Bio-Boosted Dude Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 So me and Ryuki have been the only ones editting for a few months now... And there were few others editors before that. How can we get others to edit? HOw can we make you guys edit? It's a little boring when no one else edits... Should we make it more clear that users can edit? Should we make this forum stand out more? .. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 maybe People are reluctant to because they don't want to risk messing things up? or they might not be confident of their abilities? I'd like to se more content added. my strength is mainly in organisation so I would love to have more material to organise. Quote
The Crimson Guyver Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Seriously the qualifications for a user to edit would have to be extremely strict we cant let People who are new and partially dont know drenn (excuse my language) about forums/Guyver to edit. Only allow those users who are dedicated and come on every day to talk and give advice. Otherwise this site will become an infamous forum that online forums are known for. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I disagree, we have controls to revert edits and if somebody starts putting in rubbish, we can easily stop them from editing. on the other hand, a person could join up simply to edit pages and might have incredible knowledge and make some amazing stuff. why would we force them to make some posts first, they might not want to and they might just give up and then we lose out. Bio-Boosted Dude Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Also, it's not like they need to know a butt ton of stuff about Guyver, just japanese media in general! They can just work on their own favourite topics Quote
Toku Warrior Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 This is true. I myself have only done partial setting edits with the main part of the site or made some sub forums but I haven't messed with the wiki page editting yet. Really haven't had the urge to do so yet. I have been thinking of a few ideas for one though. A page that talks about the Japan Legend / Guyver Board staff (admins and mods). Going over when they joined, what they contribute, location, main status, how they became (chosen to be) a mod or admin, interests, etc.... Another one I want to try out is one about some rarely known Japanese TV series. I saw one at Best Buy for about $39.99. Can't remember the title but it came out either in the 70's or 80's. I'll purchase that one after i get a new job so I can watch it then make a page on it. My final idea is a page about the Guyver Advocacy which includes all members from translators, material providers (scanlators), type-setters (almost sounds like Tek-Setter from Tekkaman), editors, colour adders (usually UG and myself but it would also include the rest of the team as they have also contributed a bit of colour work) and so on and so forth. All these things I would have to research first and get all the supportive things I need before I cna make them...plus my own extra-curricular work (requested drawings, colour scans, job hunting) to have a tendency to get mixed into the fray. Do any of these pages sound like a good idea? And I want HONEST opinions please. Quote
Bio-Boosted Dude Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Do any of these pages sound like a good idea? And I want HONEST opinions please. YEAH! in fact, we already have a page about the adevocacy team!! http://japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guyver_Advocacy and japan-legend! http://japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?tit...an_Legend:About and the Guyver net! http://japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=The_Guyver_Net plus all members are able to have pages about themselves anyways, still edittable by other members http://japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=User:Drag-5 There's so much that non-editors have been missing out on! *Jess♥ Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 totally agreed bbdude. it is so easy to go and read what is already there and just change something. add a sentence or something. sometimes you can add a whole paragraph and not even realise it. it's not something that needs meticulous planning, it's something that can be done bit by bit. and it always evolves if somebody has somethig they can add.
