In the coming month to 3 months I'll be moving WarriorGuyver.com to a new hosting site. The reaosn being the new hosting sites offer is less than 1/4 that of what I'm paying for this site to run right now and offers more.... it's a no brainer and for me as the guy who pays for the site a must. When I have a more fixed date I'll let you all know.

Ok... my "minor" update has turned into a complete "**** it, the site needs to be fixed properly" after discovering how bad the site looks in IE 10and Firefox... iPhone too . So for the last 2 days I've being coming up with a new template to both improve the browsing of the site and the look. it's a lot of work to Edit up though so links are not going to work great for the next week as I'll be working on this over the next few days. Though tonight the newly re-written Union Part 2 will be going up, along with Time Wars 1 to 3 which have had some minor spelling corrections and WG2's first part. I'm working on the website at the mo... Just tested a new menu system at www.warriorguyver.com/index2.htm and it's working fine I'll be apply this to the site over the week and getting the newly rewrote union story Part 1 up as well hopefully. Nice to see a more cleaner code working! I also tested this on my iPhone and it works well.

Hopefully my internet access as home which came back last night will continue working! No internet = no fun! Anyway I've a week off coming up. The plan is to use some of that nice free time watching movies and updating the site. Hopefully James will be around and we can arrange some goodies too to go with the finishing off the new template and making it work fully throughout the WG-fic site. Shouldn't be hard to guess the targets, finish the Data Files section and Art work along with the other fic writers section too.

I did a cleanup on the main front page today. I went through our keywords because quit frankly, they were a mess. they were not focused enough and had words like 'blade' 'den-o' etc. which is fine, but when you look at a keyword list and see so many, they need to be more focused. I knocked 'the guyver net' off of the page altogether because that domain has been dead for a while. I've replaced it with 'guyverboard' in deference to our history and in keeping with the forum and how members refer to it. I've also added Project Toku Wiki to the front page as I feel it is definitely deserving of the proper title. I wish to rebrand the wiki by replacing the banner at the top…

hello, I have been looking at statistics today and thought i would share the findings. we may assume on some occasions that the wiki area of the site is not as popular as the forum or as popular as we would like. a lot of work is put into it and our desire is for it to be viewed and appreciated. We all know that Sully is working his butt off with editing all ~500+ pages of the main wg.com fan fiction site. It would be safe to assume that most of those pages are datafile's and most of the editing would be updating various statistics and some display formatting and other such laborious tasks. Something that is distracting Sully for his main responsibility around here...saying "No Comment " at every instance and writing more fan fics. So in order to facilitate Sully in doing his main job, I propose that using a wiki-style database would be an apt way of helping out in managing datafiles and even the fan-fics themselves. there is a new version of PHPBB released (HOPEFULLY!!! with more anti-spam bot etc). The messageboard will be updated over this weekend as part of the rollout of updates to WG.com

The above is the plan for the WG-fic section of the site. As well as that I plan to do some tidy up to the structure of WG.com design itself. If you've any weblinks that are Guyver related please let me know for them to be updated. As well as WG.com the Guyver messageboard will be getting some work, no this isn't new work yet but more so on the code behind the board so that we get some any spam bot features. After the next two wekends I hope to re-open the board to new people. Admins will no longer be activating user accounts, this "should" be doable by new joiners themself. I just thought about perhaps updating mediawiki since this may give us extra tools like easy syndication of our pages so as to act as advertising. of course, updating software also brings with it a host of issues such as incompatibilities with any custom codes that have been put in. things may get broken and it may possibly cause some issues for our editors. what do you think about this?

`The messageboard even after it's being updated is under contant hits by spam bots looking to register on the board and post their silly adds to enlarge your body parts.... Basically I've spent more time deleting bots than posting this week so that's had to stop for the moment. I've disabled new user signup for the time being until a new PHPBB or Mod comes out that will handle the spam wave more efectively. Until then sorry to new people who want to join the board for doing this. If you email Matt or I we'll help you get a new account enabled. Note I only check email on Saturdays normally (it's my messageboard fix it day and other general stuff).

Update didn't go as planned. The old trick of backing up the database and restoring it on the new one didn't do it either as it errored due to different SQL versions. At the moment I'm simply happy we can post at the meoment. Avatars seem to have gone AWOL for the moment. That though isn't a major thing, being able to post is more important. I'll look into avatars and missing Guyver smiles in the weekend coming. Thankfully I've a backup on a different computer at home so can get the old settins from it and apply it to this new board. Edit : Avatars are back!

Added Time War Part 2 to the WG fan-fiction, Brian's section. Note: As before this is the second part of the new Time War story arc. Part 3 will bridge the gap between this part and what used to be part 1. The old Part 1 is now part 4. Once the new Part 3 is done that will be rewrote next. On Saturday coming - The 8th the messageboard will be disabled while it is backed up, deleted and then rebuilt on a MYSQL v % database. This is needed to keep the board up to date. Sorry for the Inconvenience, if you've any questions please ask them in the WarriorGuyver.com section of the board.

I've made this into a new section for the board as at the mo, I tended to post these into General and they get lost. Anyway this section isn't for spamming James and myself for info on Data Files etc. This is so in the future you guys know whats planned in line of updates and whats going on with the site. Questions here should mainly be website related. Requests for info are best put in their respective sections of the messageboards. Though if it's a question on "Can you please let us know if your going to update X section of the site" this is valid. Also if you wanted to help out and work on a section of the site this is the place to ask and arrange for it to happen.
