    You could always install classic shell to restore the good old Windows XP style GUI back onto your Windows 8.1 laptop.

    So when has Microsoft NOT ticked anyone off? I understand your situation as I'm using windows XP from home as well as from my previous juob. Now, they hand me a laptop, and BOOM, windows 8. At least majority of the shortcut keys are still there. If you want to minimize all the apps/programs, just press Windows Key+D, and it will minimize all the other programs and show your desktop.

    I stand with Ian Malcolm on this. Just because we can do something doesn't mean we should. Sometimes things are best left alone and untouched by human hands.
