If they remake the Guyver movie, I would hope they try to do a trilogy or a series of movies based on the 2005 anime or the manga. So long it goes with the story and the action has some class and doesn't look sloppy with just CGI.

Nice thread! Let me see... I was in high school when the original OVA series was first licensed and released in the UK. (Can't remember the exact year, maybe 1993?) Manga Video Entertainment already had me hooked on their releases with the incredible "Akira" and "Fist of the North Star" so I was spending my pocket money each week on a new VHS title. I was an anime addict and constantly on the look out for anything new/violent/sexy when Manga Mania magazine (anybody remember that?) ran a one page ad saying "Coming next month, a brand new monthly video comic - The Guyver!!" with a full cover shot of Guyver I & II. I knew I had to get it, so was REALLY happy to discover that not only was it coming each month but that each tape was only 5 pounds! Cheap AND Amazing! I got "Data 1" on the day of it's release from Our Price records (anybody remember those too?) and I bunked off school and watched it instead! HOOKED! The data entries of the Zoanoids with the amazing figures and the hilarious spelling errors were really cool too! Ah.... Happy days!

If a new Guyver movie does ever come to fruition, I would hope that if Steve Wang is unable to direct the movie, then I would like to see Guillermo del Toro direct it. I think he would not only follow the source material but do series the justice it so rightly deserve.

Lets hope it works out, considering the current climate of DC and Marvel a very good and well done Guyver movie would be a great rival franchise if done correctly.

Yeah, the potential of the guyver series is insane, definately needs more fame in my opinion.

I think we can confidently use most of those, I can check the original Japanese for most of those later to cross reference etc. and can come up with some pronunciation too. one I also wanted to add to the list just now as it crossed my mind... Control Metal. That caught me out for a long time, but the manga clearly says 'metal' and not 'medal'.
