  1. i liked this also, its been in the cinema's for a month now so i think its safe to say 'KAHHHHHHN' loved how they introduced the charactor agian, and we might see him again! the special effects, story line, actors and acting were great, but there was acouple let downs for me. one was the scene on the klingon planet, would of been nice if they spent alittle more time and money so the props and rocks didn't look like they were made out of cardboard. still had the on stage in a studio feel. also, the reactor room could of been alittle better.......it could be just me? overall though, it was ok and i liked it

  2. Just got back from seeing it, and daaaaamn. Nice. A lot of twists and turns, and definitely dealing with going after terrorists, going so far as to make a 911 dedication in the end. And so many characters from the original time line coming in on the story, even Carol. I like all the emotional moments in the story, when characters test each other, and question right and wrong. Very well done. I like Abrams novel style of film making. He shows you enough so that you know what is going to happen for a special effect, but cuts away at the last moment so that you can imagine the pinnacle moment. He lets you use your minds eye, so that your imagination makes it even bigger, using the effects department to build it up. Very classy. Don't get me wrong, still effects laden, but done in a way that most people wouldn't. Most effects artists try to show everything, going point for point as if we are children that need every second explained to us. Abrams maintains an excellent balance, perhaps one that is perfected with experience. Let's hope he can maintain it. And yes, there is lens flare. I think I noticed him using it as actors use blinking. It is almost always at the beginning of a shot or scene, like punctuation. Interesting
