Terrible Video Game Disasters / Video Games That Sucked

Recently I have been thinking that there are a lot of games out there that are not worth buying. When I worked at Wal-Mart, there were always guys talking about which games to buy and which not to buy. I heard that many games were horrible. For instance. Aliens: Colonial Marines and Alien Vs Predator  as well as Terminator Salvation all did horrible. They all got bad reviews. I actually played those too and they diserved the reviews that they earned.

 

So feel free to share your horrible experiences with games you went out bought. By all means, please share.

Obvious answer is obvious.

 

Unlike most people, I played past the first level, which in itself shows the horrible gameplay mechanics and level design. Then, it get glitchy. I flew through walls and got stuck outside of the level before. I've died by regular enemies because my feet were buried underneath the floor.

 

Most people truly don't how much of a bad game this is. Most quit before the gauntlet truly begins.

 Aliens - Colonial Marines and Resident Evil 6 where both like kicks to the family jewels for me but Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City makes both of them look ok by comparison. It was my first big dispointment from the Resident Evil series (there where a lot of things I didnt like about RE 5 but it also had its great moments to). After playing RE:ORC I thought.....

lol, funny video. I really liked Jim the Knight But I wouldn't want to play that game. His comments during the video were hilarious, I couldn't keep a straight face the entire time.

Film writer and producer James Rolfe as the Angry Nintendo Nerd/Angry Video Game Nerd has a whole You Tube channel devoted to comical reviews of crappy games  

 

I also happen to like one of the worst games of all times:  yep, Postal 2.  It's infamous for it's over the top violence and dark humor, but it's also one of the most dysfunctional games ever made.  It crashes like crazy when a lot of stuff happens because the game's code, even with the updates to it, is so unstable.  It's a guilty pleasure and quite fun most of the time, but best video game ever?  Please...  Guilty pleasure and fun when you're in the right state of mind and like the game's satirical sarcasm, but not a great game by any means.

Penumbra 3 - not like it's a bad game, it have some decent puzzles in it, but it totally not what you expect from Penumbra series. I was wasting my time playing it and waiting for real Penumbra gameplay, but then I read a review and realized that it's a different game.

 

Also, like Penumbra 3, those games was totally not what I was expecting: Far Cry 2, Operation Flashpoint 2, Soldier of Fortune 3

 

Operation Flashpoint 2 only have a name of the series, gameplay (and overall engine mechanics) is totally not what OpF/ArmA lovers will enjoy.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 was a big disappointment for me and the rest of the Sonic fandom.  You can tell off the bat that the staff was rushing through this game, not doing any fine tuning (you don't have to go far into the game to run into some weird bugs/glitches), and the pairing between the hero and a princess that gets captured every three seconds in the game....No!  Just, no!  There were so many things wrong with it that this game was not considered canon to the overall story by everyone, even by non-Sonic fans. 

 

The only other Sonic game that I can currently think of that was also not considered canon is the Shadow the Hedgehog game, and in comparison: Shadow's game is marginally better than Sonic 06 mainly due to the fact that the programmers took the time to fine tune things.  Both games were big let downs, but I'd rather play Shadow over the Sonic 06 monstrosity.
