Jade Tatsu Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) After finishing The Conquered, I had some time and I got talking Ladena, especially since she had drawn me some absolutely fabulous pictures. Anyway when I was looking through her deviant art account, something you should all do, I found some other images which were awesome. Now... me being a writer, since they referred to a Guyver AU universe, I assumed there was this fic in Russian and frankly I was jealous! I was missing out on this great fic.... I wanted to read it and I would have put up with Google Translate! However, when I got talking to Ladena, she told me that unfortunately no, there was no fic but I pestered for the general outline and with permission I wrote her some of the scenes from her fic. It developed into something much longer than I thought it would be. I THOUGHT it would be a novella... it turned into a short novel. But I had a blast writing it and it got written... very quickly. So before I post some links to it... I'm going to post some links to the artwork that inspired it. (I do have permission from Ladena to post these links) Her OC Lois - human form Sho looking super hot in his Zoalord robes Her OC Lois in his Zoalord form Now fic links! Guyver AU A Tale of What Wasn't - FFN <- edited version (FFnet content restrictions)Guyver AU A Tale of What Wasn't - AO3 <- full version Summary: At the height of the battle between Chronos and the Guyvers, the Uranus returned to finish what they started. Earth is shattered and the survivors must make peace with themselves and move on so that the human race continues. Except humans do not forget the past and the Uranus should fear for the future. Guyver AU based on Aiuke and Lucithea's vision of escaping Earth on the Ark (Deviant Art account names) So yep... I basically wrote a fic because I was jealous. But hey, I had fun and Ladena likes it So everything is good. Edited October 19, 2013 by Jade Tatsu 2 Quote

*Jess♥ Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I wish I had the patience to read, alas my dyslexia makes it so laborious. it is a shame because it is such a nice thing to see you guys sharing with each other and creating such wonderful things! Quote
Jade Tatsu Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 No worries Ryuki, though you should go browse the piccies at least! They are worth it. ' And to be honest I have to admit that this one is a bit of a chore to read.... kinda... I didn't break it into chapters since I didn't write it in chapters. So you have a very long one shot fic in one chapter... There are headings though for anyone going OMG I'm not reading a slab of text! I tried to make it readable at least. It's a fic where the Guyvers and Chronos have to co-operate so I thought it was an interesting concept. Quote
*Chernaudi Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Well, I've been writing some fan fic, but it's a Twilight Saga/Guyver crossover. Probably not for everyone, even fans of Guyver. Though in Guyver, such a story of the Guyver allied faction and Chronos cooperating is an interesting concept. That even to some degree seems to be happening in the actual Guyver manga now if I read the discussion right. Quote
Jade Tatsu Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) Ah! I don't know Twilight at all - despite what my signature might indicate Though if it's a cross over, if the balance is good then it will entertain fans of both. I read a ... Thundercats/Guyver cross over a while back... I know nothing about Thundercats but I liked seeing Sho and the interpretation of what had happened at the fall of Chronos. I made things easy with this one. The opening scene, from which Ladena's picture comes from, explains why they are working together as well as a few other issues that have to be dealt with. Then we move on in time and I cover about 500 years with this fic with one far future ending scene. But this one is not for everyone either and not just cos of the OCs. I'm a stickler for cannon characters so the OCs are there but not major, the relationships contained probably put a few people off but that's individual choice. Where have you posted (if you have) your fic Chernaudi? You should start a thread for it (if you haven't and I'm just being blind in not seeing it) Edit: sigh I really didn't have them wandering around in space long enough in this fic.... *Chernaudi Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 There's a couple of threads--one in the fan fic/fan art section called "My Guyver and Twilight fic that I've hinted at" or something like that, and one more about info in the story in the science and technology area at the top of that page. I haven't posted it anywhere, and, actually, I've had a bitch of a time working on it recently because of work and being sick off and on. I have been working on chapter 10 of it for over a month now. There's a ton of Twilight, Guyver, and original characters in it, some of which--especially the OCs, you may find to be cool, as well as some of the events in the story so far. It's mostly a comedy/action story written for fun and humor. I've seen the films and read the novels (BTW, I'm a guy ), and I remember Bio-Booster Armor Guyver as a kid from the OVA cartoons and the live action films. This story isn't as over the top violent as they were, but there's still fights and action. It also includes a lot on cars and World War II era weapons and technology--two more of my favorite things. As mentioned, I do have a couple of threads, but nothing posted as far as the actual story here or anywhere now, but these are discussion threads, so feel free to read and comment Quote
Jade Tatsu Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 I understand your feelings Chernaudi. No matter how fast I wrote this one, most of my fics are written at a much more sedate pace. You really just have to keep plugging at it. Even if you don't get as much as you want done, writing just a little bit a day will eventually get it done and even if you can't get something done each day... you have to try and not get down when you can't. Which is advice I'm sure you already know. You don't need to get too technical with things either... I find sometimes we can bog ourselves down with trying to figure out plausible explanations for some stuff when the explanation makes no difference to the fic... at that point shove what you want in and you can probably skip over the explanation if you go fast enough So you've been working on chapter 10 for over a month- big deal! The important thing is you are still working on it! you haven't given up. I'll look around for the discussion threads when I'm not about to run out the door Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Yeah, that's the same way it is with my writing; I tend to move through it fairly slowly. Still, I just keep working at it, and eventually I get finished with it. Quote
*Chernaudi Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Hey Jade, I hope that you'll enjoy looking at the topics I posted about my fic. One thing is that I do get technical about certain things, though there's usually important info in that technical stuff that comes back into the story later as the plot develops. Also, a lot of the characters are female, and some have their origins in other fic that I've written. Also, there's some pretty significant plot twists from Guyver and even Twilight canon (I can PM you about those and other things if you're interested), and tons of OCs. Things here also do connect somewhat with other Twilight fan fic I've written--some of which are also waiting to get finished, including one with two of my OC's (named Lia and Camel) that's almost 50 chapters long--thankfully, it's not too insanely far from it's finish. I do believe that you'll like a lot of my OC's and a couple of things I did with a couple of Guyver characters. Speaking of which, I'll probably try in a few minutes to start work on writing--hopefully in a day or two, I can get finished with this current chapter. Update: I'm almost done with chapter 10. I should have it finished by tonight. Edited October 22, 2013 by Chernaudi Quote
*Chernaudi Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Oh, and I do have to say as a fic writer, that losing the internet sucks. My internet--and phone, too--were out until sometime before I got home from work today. I wanted to finish my chapter up last night, but now it'll probably be during the weekend that I finish it up. The thing that sucks about writing and losing the internet is that I like to listen to stuff on You Tube while I write, and it's also easier to look stuff up as far as factual/canonical info. So that sucks when that happens. Quote
Jade Tatsu Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 LOL i'm the opposite to be honest. We had a power outage the other day (planned) and I'd charged the laptops so I managed to get a lot done. Not the most productive writing day I've had 'cos I actually went back to paper for a bit, which I find very relaxing and good for some scenes as it forces me to write slower and thus think a bit better, but the lack of internet was a good thing. Do you actually have to check that much? Although I admit at the moment I'm procrastinating on a piece because I haven't had the time to either re-read volumes 1-8 or watch the OAV 12 ep series for a line I'm sure Agito said! Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 That's why I write my first drafts on notebook paper, and why I keep my iPod with me while I work. That is, if I don't feel like watching TV while I work. Quote

I actually don't really check out stuff as far as Guyver goes. I think that I know enough about the characters to gauge what their reaction to a particular situation is. Same with Twilight characters. Usually, I listen to music or You Tube videos--usually things like humorous game reviews and let's plays of some games (usually Postal 2) because the videos are long and I can listen to them while writing. Usually, I end up checking on stuff about the technical stuff that I'm writing about for factual accuracy, namely World War II or other weaponry or cars and such that are featured in my stories. Mostly, listening to those videos keeps me from getting bored while writing, because I don't feel like sitting in the living room while writing to watch TV and I need something going on in the background to keep my from being distracted by silence. You know, I was already a bit uneasy about reading your fanfic, just because of all you've already written about it, but I think you've managed to lose my interest entirely with this. Good luck writing it, though. Quote
