Killer Instinct Remake

 So I believe I've talked about Killer Instinct before and how I wished they would of remade it. Well it's no secret they have gone ahead with it, and the remake it's supposed to come out some time this year. This isn't brand spanking new, news I simply haven't gotten around to posting it here. From the graphics and details this new remake looks amazing, to me atleast. And I really can't wait to try it out!

I have no hope for this at all. Rare is dead to me, and Double Helix doesn't have any real track record for good games.

 

As far as Primal Rage goes, I believe it would be up to WB Games cause I'm believe they might own the IP cause Primal Rage did appear on Midway Arcade Treasures 2.

I can't quite agree with you spleash, yeas, they don't have a track record but the people that they have working in them are from different fighting games including the original KI and so far they are trying to genuinely make this reboot into a viable fighter which lets face it the original KI's where not. I have been following the development from this game and it looks promising and although I wont be playing it right off the bat since I wont be buying a Xbone first but it does look promising and I am intrigued by the backstory reveals  for each character so far.

Question is how many people will actually play the game regardless of it's quality? Like you said, you won't get the XBone(or VCR), and neither will I. If it's good it will be a shame because Microsoft is digging their grave right about now.

I don't know, I know people who have the budget for 3 consoles will probably buy it as well as hardcore KI fans but as for the rest of the people I seriously don't know considering the ps4 is more powerful, less expensive and their online service has more rewards, they could port it to windows 8 and arcades but I really don't see a lot of people buying it, it also does not help that ever since they announced the console sony has done everything in their marketing campaign to out do anything that microsoft may announce.

I have to say, the first time I saw the trailer I was absolutely appalled by the re-designs. And I still am. They are hideous. Sabrewulf looks like Booster from Jingle All The Way.

When I saw gameplay of Glacius though, he did look like quite a fun character to play as. Despite his horrid re-design, he probably will be quite enjoyable to use (though perhaps a little too different from his original incarnation for my taste). I feel like you really have to go into this game without the previous versions in mind which makes no sense to me. I am terrified to see what they did to Fulgore, who was my favourite.

My opinion probably doesn't matter that much since I won't be getting an XBone, but maybe at some point in the future I will get a chance to somehow play this game.

 Thought the same too with Jago who was always my favorite Character as well. They made him much more bulky and wield a massive Chinese sword instead of the slick Katana but am I so upset I won't get the game? Heck no, I'm just happy they finally did do a remake. Though as you said Sabrewulf (who was my second favorite) looks exceptionally different from his predecessors. He used to have robotic arms if I remember correctly.

 My brother too liked to use Fulgore and Glacius. They haven't announced the whole character set as of yet, the players that have been confirmed are: Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, and Chief Thunder. I would be surprised to see Fulgore in this new remake, if anything he'd probably be introduced into the next game as one of the main antagonist. I myself am rather upset about the whole XBone thing, my 360 was stolen this summer and so I bought a new one without any knowledge of this new game console coming out I felt like I spent that money for nothing lol.

That is the thing about the character designs, they are intentional and accurate and even tho some people may like the original designs they are stereotypical and simple specially Jago, at first glance what impression does he give you?  a ninja right? what if I tell you he is actually a monk from The Himalayas? doesn't look like it right? Double helix tries to portray this well to be accurate with his backstory showing his devotion to the way of the tiger, where as the original KI features a 90's ninja with cutout pants and a VERY short T-shirt.

 

Sabrewulf? his design is also intentional and what does he look like now? a twitching junkie werewolf, that is because he is in this storyline trying to turn back into human form and has turned to drugs and black magic and his first success was restoring his arms.

 

I don't know much about Glacius's backstory but I love the design, now he looks like an alien, oh and he has also been my favorite KI character flowed by tusk. XD

Yeah I know I am well aware of the Character back stories, and that Jago was a monk following the Tiger Spirit which

turned out to be Gargos

in the second game. Orchid is also his sister though I wonder if they'll be doing her accurately now. Fulgore was created by Ultratech to be the perfect combat machine. Sabrewulf if memory serves, was a doctor who found a potion that accidentally turned him into a Werewolf and now he is trying to find a cure for his lycanthropy. Glacius was an alien that crashed on the planet and was captured by Ultratech and forced into the tournament in order to win his freedom/ability to leave earth.

Well I got the game finally a little while ago, sense the first season is now free for XBone gold. I have to say I love it! There's so much fan service in this game and the story is very enjoyable. I must say, it's the best KI by far. You can play with the original skins from the N64 version or you can play with the newer designs. Not to mention you can also customize your favorite character with various colors, hair styles and attire. I'm really looking forward to season 3 and getting both Kim Wu and Tusk.

I have to say, I'm really loving how this game's progressing. It's funny because I was just thinking how cool it would be if they made some sort of medusa or gorgon character for the game. Well, check out some of these characters coming out for season 3! Can't wait to get their backstories!

Never really played the Killer Instinct looks fun though.

 

As for Primal Rage, I'd give almost anything to get a new game!
