January 7, 201313 yr well nearly finished this model just some highlights and lacquer to finish then the base . I had to mix the colours to get he right shade of purple/blue but turned out well i think.

January 8, 201313 yr Author thanks for comment Aether i will be using a satin lacquer so it has a slight sheen but not look too plasticy. My next model is guyver 1 which already assembled and primed gotta get the paints the weekend.
January 8, 201313 yr Looks really good, but don't make it too shiny otherwise you might get more of a "robotic" look
January 9, 201313 yr see if you can get some shellac. awesome job on it man. much better than my mediocre effort. silly me thought I could use an airbrush.
January 9, 201313 yr Author shellac is for nails and could flake or even distort the paint. with the lacquer i can spray a light layer without thinking about smudging. When i finished my other model i coated it in a mixture of pva glue and water and some of the detail in the face smudged and has to be redone again.
January 9, 201313 yr Oh, i was thinking about shellac to give it a sheen like chitin. I didn't realise it would have that effect
