lost unit Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 well nearly finished this model just some highlights and lacquer to finish then the base . I had to mix the colours to get he right shade of purple/blue but turned out well i think. Quote
Aether Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 nice work! you did a good job on the colour. what lacquer are you using for the finish?? Quote
lost unit Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 thanks for comment Aether i will be using a satin lacquer so it has a slight sheen but not look too plasticy. My next model is guyver 1 which already assembled and primed gotta get the paints the weekend. Quote
Guyver0 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Looks really good, but don't make it too shiny otherwise you might get more of a "robotic" look Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 see if you can get some shellac. awesome job on it man. much better than my mediocre effort. silly me thought I could use an airbrush. Quote
daveblackeye152 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Very nice! That is a lovely purple on Valcuria. Quote
lost unit Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 shellac is for nails and could flake or even distort the paint. with the lacquer i can spray a light layer without thinking about smudging. When i finished my other model i coated it in a mixture of pva glue and water and some of the detail in the face smudged and has to be redone again. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Oh, i was thinking about shellac to give it a sheen like chitin. I didn't realise it would have that effect Quote
