I have finally graduated from University with a Bachelor's degree in Art!    Now, to kick back, break out the berry wine, and relax for a few days.

First day of classes went by fast, along with my first day on my first job. This semester I landed a job in the school cafeteria for lunch and dinner hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and dinner hours on Sundays. I am gonna be buuuuussssyyyy this year.

Had an interesting discussion in Old Testiment class today over a person's beliefe of the Bible (whether it's the true and absolute word, or if the Bible is a collection of experiences from the Hebrew/Christian point of view). I even told my instructor that we need to record some of our discussions because people could learn from what we're discussing and debating in this class.

I have a regular discussion with an old friend over lunch and a coffee.

well I used to. he is busy these days so I don't see him too often.

but it is always interesting to read it and to question whether certain parts are literal or figurative. or analogy.

it also all depends on perspective.

I can formulate a world view where the story of genesis is absolutely literal. but this world view also doesn't discount the things that have been thus far proven by scientific enquiry.

it's because the original scriptures are not in english and there are different ways of reading it and it is also quite vague.

Yeah, I'm starting to learn a lot about the Bible's origines and the many times it has been monkeyed with.

By the way, do you know what the word "joso" means? I saw it on an import website (for Japanese manga; didn't explore the place long after accidentally hitting the hentai link) and I can't find it in my Japanese dictionary.

joso? spelled exactly that way?

it would help to know the context, but i'll give you what i can.

ã˜ã‚‡ã ã€ã€€ã˜ã‚‡ã†ãã†

hmm, best i can come up with is jousou,

which if i get the context correctly, it means 'good taste' or 'artistic sensibility'.

  • Author

Hmm, weird. Yeah, it's spelled "joso".

Okay, after exploring the site some more and seeing the joso section, I can say they're misusing it. They're using it for the yaoi section  They've got some nasty stuff up too.

could it be that one of the letter is an extended vowel?

because josou, sometimes might be written joso and that might mean something like "girl-like", meaning effeminate men?

he he, not my cup of tea, but I know someone who'd probably love it.

Yeah, I also have a friend that's a yaoi/yuri fan.

Anywho, I made a lovely discover on campus today: there's a milkshake/smoothie maker in the university cafe!!

Now I don't have to drive across the city to get my chocolate fix!

Nothing like sitting back after a hard week's work and watching comedy specials with a roommate that enjoys a Fluffy guy making jokes about himself and his friends.

All the glovettes I made the past two months sold like hot cakes on a Sunday at the University's Festival yesterday O.O I'm even getting orders from fellow students and some teachers are even saying they're planning on custom ordering some from me! Holy mongoose in a monster truck! I didn't expect this at all!

heh heh, what are glovettes?

are they made by knitting or weaving? are they just like gloves?

well whatever they are, congratulations on selling them so well!

  • Author

Thanks, Ryuki!

Glovettes are finger-less gloves; all fingers are left bare while the palm and wrist are covered. It's an ideal acessory for autumn weather, especially if you're working on something that requires for you to move and stretch your fingers a lot (the organ proffessor here on campus was especially happy to see them at the booth yesterday). They can either be knitted or crocheted, but I knit my glovettes; not sure if they can be woven.

ah I see! fingerless gloves ! I have never heard them called glovettes before.

do you get those ones with a fold over cover that turns them into mittens?

could just stitch it on :P

but i am sure your skills are much better than mine.

I haven't done knitting since 20 years ago.

:P I'm not that good yet.

Anywho, I'm kinda afraid to show this, but I wrote a Guyver crossover story with Sailor Moon http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8488183/1/Sailor-Gaea

Yeah, I'm wondering what the hell caused me to think of such blasphelmes things and how it's getting so many views. Currently the view count for it is over 300 this month.

heh heh, that sounds pretty awesome!

I would read it, if I read things. but I don't so I'll just have a cursory glance.

the chapters seem short. wow, I remember fan fictions. a long time ago i used to read a lot of them but recently I don't have time for reading.

I am unfamiliar with the sailor moon universe so I can't comment on that, but the cursory look I gave it looks nice. your writing style is very clear and comfortable.

good job on getting lots of views!

you are surprised?

of course I know what sailor moon is... vaguely.

just remember, I am a guy :)

I like naruto and star trek and dragonball and farscape and doctor who and alien and etc.

I'm pretty sure sailor moon isn't my cup of tea?

by all means correct me if i'm wrong but I thought it was a girly thing.

The crappily translated English dub is girly/kiddy, but the original Japanese dub is aimed towards both adolescent genders. You might find it humorous at times even though it is on the girly side.

ah, well it is a very large popular series isn't it?

I've heard of it for a long time.

i might put it as a long term project.

currently, my long term project is gintama so I don't have a slot for it, but perhaps once i've completed gintama, I might turn to sailor moon?

thanks!

edit:

just watched a few clips from episode 1. really like it. that girl is so dizzy, her attitude is funny! it reminds me of other anime from that time so it'll be nice and nostalgic as well.

Sailor Moon was the very first anime I ever watched, and it's as old as me. I love it to death, and I'm currently collecting the manga that's being republished with better translations and artwork from the author.

Oh, and they're remaking the anime too! From the news going around the web, it's suppose to be launched sometime in 2013.

I just checked on anidb and there seems to be 5 series already!
