March 22, 201214 yr Author Sadly, I live in a state that passes judgement without a second thought, even when they don't know what it is. I guess they just don't want to deal with the law if they try to rip me off or something because laws concerning disability employment are on the harsh side.
March 22, 201214 yr damn, that's a shame. I had always assumed the stereotypes that came through TV were an exaggeration. are people really that closed minded?
March 24, 201214 yr Author My dad has a new favorite TV show that is aired on the British Channel here in America: Top Gear. I'm happy 'cause it's a sign that the old version of Dad is fully back. Before he married the evil he was a vehicle nut case, and I'm glad that part is back. Means less bitching for me to hear when I come home when I have spare time and less gray hair for him
March 24, 201214 yr awesome top gear is one of the most popular shows here. I wonder what you guys will think of the USA episode. they actually drive through the heavily religious states in the mid or the south. the problem is, they paint each others vehicles to be as provocative as possible ..... they were not received well!
March 24, 201214 yr Author The American version isn't as good in my opinion. The directors chose a bunch of pansies for drivers.
March 25, 201214 yr it's interesting. sometimes american producers see a successful british tv series and they think they can copy it. what they don't realise is the good thing about a *british* show is the british element. you can't replace that british element with an american and expect it to work. it just doesn't. that's why 'the office' was awful, and is why shows like 'supernanny' and 'gordon ramsey kitchen nightmares' are successful. it probably works both ways too, but i can't currently think of a US show that british producers tried to copy.
March 25, 201214 yr Author Very true, Ryuki, and a majority of those fails is because (in my opinion) the wrong people were chosen to make American versions of British shows. For example, the three hosts on the British version of Top Gear are well rounded in the realm of cars and they know what the hell they're saying and can make a well thought out argument while making it funny at the same time. Also, the stunts they pull is also well planned out. In the American version there are three idiots that are not rounded at all and apparently do not do the needed research and their idiotcy shows painfully especially when they get on the track and screw up.
April 1, 201214 yr Author Saw a Womanless pagent today on campus Oh my Lord! I think I died several times watching all of them guys dressed as women and gals dressed as men make a fool of themselves ....Well, there was one part that made me other than that, it was pretty damn hilarious.
April 3, 201214 yr ha ha that is cool I watched this show called 'ru pauls drag race' . somehow those men can make themselves look very beautiful. it's like an art form.
April 3, 201214 yr Author Wow, didn't know there were TV shows for that. It certainly does take a lot creativity to look like the opposite gender for certain.
April 4, 201213 yr Author Accedentaly ripped my Algebra professor a new one today I didn't mean to, but it just happened..... Professor: I just noticed something. There're no guy students in here! Me: I was wondering about the lack of testosterone today. Class: *rofl* Me: *takes a minute to realize I said it out loud* Oops....
April 9, 201213 yr Author Has anyone ever gotten so much candy on Easter that you have to give some away to your friends because you wouldn't be able to finish all of it before they go bad? Between my mom, dad, and meemaw I got twice as much candy this year than what I'd usually get in previous years Normally I wouldn't complain about getting candy, but this year's load was ridiculous.
April 10, 201213 yr Author more than one chocolate bar would be too much for me. Really? You get that hyper off of one chocolate bar and start running around wrecking everything? (Just kidding; bad joke)
April 10, 201213 yr ha ha, I used to get hyper. nah, I just don't like sweet things in general. most amount of sugar i take is one spoon in my cup of tea. I don't eat a lot of desserts. if I eat a slice of cake and don't balance it with some other savoury food, I get really tired and sluggish afterwards. ...... actually, I used to get very hyper and quite crazy when i was about 10 years younger. if you've read the story i wrote about wade heavenly, that is a slightly exaggerated version of how i used to be. XD
April 10, 201213 yr Author At least it wasn't as bad as me drinking an energy drink at that age. I got so hyper that I ran around the high school track 10 times without stopping.
April 10, 201213 yr ha ha, that sounds brilliant XD you just reminded me of my little brother, every time my mate came round, he;d put on a boxing glove, then my little brother would run head first into his fist.
April 11, 201213 yr Author  Me and my brother did that when we were younger! Only difference is we used seat cushions from the couch instead of a boxing glove.
April 11, 201213 yr heh heh, i bet we could keep each other entertained with stories from our youth! perhaps it's a good topic for a thread?
April 21, 201213 yr Author Yesterday there was a Raku workshop held by the art club on campus. It was fun, I got to help out, and my dad and gandma participated and made a piece each. And that's when the ceramics proffessor said to me, "Oh, by the way since you signed up to help deliver the peices people didn't wait to get done, you can help us out at the sales booth tomorrow during the Alumni Weekend fair." My right arm hates me now T-T and not only that, using a design challenged cart to get what we were selling to the booth was very nerve racking. We sold a lot of stuff (one student that was selling her own work made over $100), and we had a great time talking with the Alumni.
April 28, 201213 yr Author I'm upset. Part of my final ceramics peice is ruined. The kiln had a meltdown and mine and several other peices were melted At least my peice is an easy fix; it was a small peice I can make in time again. The other's...well, I'll just put it in abbreviation: they're FUBAR. Their's took weeks to make, and they don't have that time to remake those peices. This absolutely sucks doggy terds.
April 29, 201213 yr oh crap! that really sucks!! did you take photos during the process? I am sure you can submit any supporting evidence and it will count well towards your mark. that really does suck though, it's awful when things get spoiled. I hate it when things are broken, it makes me feel sad.
April 29, 201213 yr Author I didn't take photos of the process, but since it was a technical fault and she saw my work before it was destroyed I think she will be lenient on us who's projects were ruined. I'm not entirely worried about my overall project (the other five peices to it are fine since they were fired earlier); it's the people who put in projects that took them weeks to make that are going to be crying when they see their work.
