Guest DaMoe Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 This is the discussion topic for the wiki article: How are we different from Wikipedia Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 It's a nice topic, but there's nothing there. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 ha ha, well maybe you could contribute something into it? btw damoe didn't make this topic. it was automatic and for some reason it assigns it to the person that visited the page first. i haven't been able to change that unfortunately. Quote
durendal Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Really? How come when I made a wiki page, I had to manually post it like this? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 i'm not sure? did you click the discussion link on that page? when the discussion link is clicked on that page, instead of going to a discusssion area like in a normal wiki, it creates a discussion topic in this forum. just like this one. it doesn't make the topic straight away. does that explain what you wanted to know? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 i am still puzzled how this topic came to be btw... no page links to said topic. and it doesn't exist. so I'm not sure how anybody could have possibly accidentally made a discussion topic for it. Quote
durendal Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 LOL. Perhaps this can be considered as the "Haunting of Japan Legend"? Quote
durendal Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I updated this page to at least contain some additional information as to how we really are different from Wikipedia. At the same this, I guess you can say this is a self serving subject targeted at uplifting the PTW contributor's own ego. I have to say, the guy doing all those PTW pages sure is shallow. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 ha ha, I disagree. I think the person doing that project needs as much ego uplift as he wishes. he does a great job and i would like to promote it as much as i can as well. nice update. it makes it really clear where you are coming from and how all of our informations up to now are superior. I think i can copy and paste that writing into some places to get some more people visiting and appreciating and even perhaps helping. Quote
durendal Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Oh, hey. Here's another idea that I have. Seeing how "popular" the tribute to asian women thread is, I was thinking of doing something similar to the wiki pages. I'm thinking of putting up a wiki page for gravure idols and link the photo gallery to photobucket. As usual, wikipedia has inferior information regarding the idols and I want people to at least appreciate the idols other than their physical assets. My question is how I'm going to link the wiki page to photobucket. My idea is to have a gallery in the wiki while the images themselves are hosted elsewhere. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 with plans to not renew the japan-legend.com domain and instead take out the guyveradvocacy.org domain name, will it work out? do you wish to keep working on project toku wiki under the new name? maybe toku.guyveradvocacy.org? or something like that? of course, if this is something you want to do, I will help in any way I can. I'm not sure how to display images that are hosted on another server. I think it would take me just as long as you to locate that information on the mediawiki website. actually you might find it faster, your research skills surpass mine in this area I think. Quote
durendal Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I am undecided about the toku wiki, since my initial intention was to lay out the ground work and template for the whole thing, and let the other members add the contents and let it grow. All I wanted was to be a moderator and editor, not a contributor. Unfortunately, I ended up contributing majority of all the contents, which I don't think any sane person will be able to tackle alone. If you will push through with the domain change, then I will wait for everything to settle before I do anything. No point in making things complicated in the transition period. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I don't know when I'll be able to do it though. it all depends when I will get disposable income to purchase the domain name. I really need to watch my finances at the moment. so I would suggest, do what makes you happy, and when I make changes, I'll keep in mind ways to accommodate any valuable work you do. I must admit, I think a resource to help further celebrate these lovely ladies, would be a wonderful thing. Quote
