Bobby Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I like them because it shows they're ancient like the bad guys and they're portable. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 i like the origami's but i hated that transformation into shinken-oh. it was so completely lame. I don't think this series can surpass hurricanger. actually, It might not even come close. I am seeing a similarity to the structure of go-onger. as in... ther don't seem to be any consequences to what happens in each episode. I say this because of how over dramatised they made that 2nd episode. but then it seemed to be completely resolved by the end of the episode. it seemed very over the top. and if they can solve something that quickly when it was made to seem so bad... it just doesn't bode well. well, we shall see. it is only 2 episodes in. Larz Zahn Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 i guess i was expecting some better looking robots i suppose, i understand that they were trying to keep it looking like origami animals, so that had to have that folded look about them. like i said, its only a nit pick and not a real problem, seeing them in action does more than make up for it tho, so im content. i havent seen the second episode yet so i cant say anything about that. Bobby Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Just wait & see. They're gonna get more zords and get armor forms like the Jungle Pride Megazord. And I found a picture that shows that the group attack involves ShinkenRed's Power Weapon. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 3 episodes in. still no substance. so far this has less substance than either goonger or gekiranger. also the production values have really gone down the pan. this is cheap. i can't see it improving to be completely honest. larz if you want to watch any sentai, try hurricanger. not this. Larz Zahn Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 i heard that dekaranger was good.. i'll definitly check out hurricanger ryuki but any hints on dekaranger? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 i don't know why you heard dekaranger was good. I think it was very poor myself. i think others share that opinion. hurricanger has the quality that i feel recent kamen rider has. decent story telling that is subtle, rich and well written. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 lol, i probably was told it sucked, but with my memory i thought someone said it rocked! thanks ryuki, im lookin up hurricanger on veoh now, thanks dude. Quote
Guest DecadeRed Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 ye, don't go for dekaranger. unless u wanna watch a sentai that has no bad guy company, jus a random monster of the week, err, and no real storyline at all. coz all dekaranger has going for it is character development. meanwhile, hurricanger has all of the above. back on topic, i'm really liking shinkenger, obviously with most sentai they don't start the storyline until around the 8-10 mark (unlike hurricanger which pretty much introduced important plot points from the start). one of my other favourites, abaranger, didn't start its storyline for at least 10 eps, the first lot of eps were a lot like go-onger, goofy and colorful, but enjoyable. i'm hoping shinkenger does something similar. and as for production values... did u not see that fantastic shinkengreen henshin? and i think we already have some subtle plot points being fed to us, not only the obvious red/green rivalry, but the kotoha sister story? and how about mako being the only one who got special treatment when they were summoned (the carry thing). as with the sailor moon story, there is speculation that she is actually very important, like maybe the real shiba lord, and takeru is her decoy. *Jess♥ Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 i have been feeling that it's kinda cheap but nothing substantial. not until I watched an episode of hurricanger again. there's a hell of a difference. the detail on their suits for a start. there is a phenomenal difference there. then there was the special effects of teh mecha... even considering how long ago it was, the CGI was actually far superior to shinkenger. most notable was teh detail there as well. I look at shinkenoh and i feel like the suit is cheaply made. I wonder how the overall story will turn out... but i am unsure. see, the same thing happened in this latest episode. something happened and it went WAY overdramatic. all of a sudden, shinken red decides to have some major problem and it seems really bad, but .. oh it's okay, they just do some training and problem solved. I feel like if they are making such a big deal about such a smal thing, then how can they make anything dramatic later on? I think i'll give it maybe one or two more eipsodes. Quote
Bobby Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Once I watch episode two, I know I'll like Shinkenger. Quote
Guest DecadeRed Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 woohoo, this is as good a place as any, lol, the full opening and ending of shinkenger, performed live Quote
Bobby Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Next weekend, Ladies & Gentlemen...THE BEETLE ORIGAMI!!! Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 decade red, I think that would be much better as a standalone thread? incase somebody was avoiding this thread for spoilers etc. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 it's not spoilers. was my post confusing? I thought... if somebody was avoiding this thread.... somebody might avoid this thread for a number of reasons. that person might not have seen recent eps of shinkenger so they won't want to read this thread. alternatively, a person might simply not be interested in shinkenger discussion. but they might really love the music. they might really appreciate teh opening and closing music. but since they don't visit this thread, they will miss it. so surely it would be better in a thread labelled " shinkenger OP and ED musics" ? Guest DecadeRed Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 ah rite. ur post sounded like u were sayin the vids had spoilers in them. Quote
Bobby Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Looks like Ryunosuke is getting the Marlin Disk/Origami. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 anyone notice how very wordy those bad guys are?? they use so many words!! is that some way of talking posh? or perhaps it is old fashioned? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 i'm glad these episodes are coming out subtitled. I have decided not to watch shinkenger without subs because the character development is very important in this series. from what i have seen, I know that if you are not 100% clear what they are saying, you can miss the entire point. it's very different from decade in that respect. the characters have got a LOT of depth up til now. far more than the cardboard cutouts in gekiranger. *Jess♥ Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 just watching ep 8... now these poses after they transform outside the house.. this is familiar! is this a parody of something? it makes me think of onimusha. Quote
