*V Guyver Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 oh sorry, I thought you were playing the PSP version. Quote
durendal Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Yeah, I know the heart refresh glitch and the sword brothers glitch which will lead up to 425%. I didn't bother doing it as it's not officially in the game. You can get 200.6% if you use the library card when you get to Dracula so the Librarian can record him as well. I'm just prolonging the game because I want to complete every item on the game and reveal the rare item drop in the monster library. Playing as Richter is a bigger challenge as you won't be able to get any of the powerups. There is a glitch that will give you unlimited HP max though. Bosses will also be tougher especially for Galamoth. Although I've seen a video where Richter actually cheesed Galamoth by using the knife item crash. and your pretty much invincible when doing certain moves. Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 yeah, I stack up on hearts then item crash like crazy, killed just 2/4ths of the boss's in the game liek that by using Richter. Quote
durendal Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 I've only recently discovered that using a special attack with 2 Heaven Sword equipped on both hands will unleash barraged of swords launched towards your enemy. Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 did you ever use the sheilds to summon an armor (or cow for that matter.) they had some nice effects, a shame they weren't that practical. Quote
durendal Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Ahaha, yeah, the cow. I remember that from using the Leather shield. I remember having a blast with the shield rod when I first got it. I like the Herald shield where is summons a nekid lady. Althought the effect isn't that much good. The Alucard shield is the cheeziest shield combined with the Shiled Rod. The Fist of Tulkas is also one of my favorite weapons. Imaging doing the Hokuto no Ken punch in Mid air. ATATATATATATATAH!!!!! Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 lol, didn't think to compare the fist of Tulkas to HnK. I used to think the Axe Armor was the most useless thing around until i learned about how the Mummy was susceptible to critical from it. Spent hours trying to get the armor, and finally got it, and what a let down. Quote
durendal Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 But still funny though. You get to see Alucard as an Axe Wielding armor. I've never played with is much. Hmm.... idea! I should try Killing Dracula with it. Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 good luck, he can't duck any of the attacks and takes a ton of damage. Quote
durendal Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 But he can cast spells right? And I can't remember if your familiars would be present. It would be funny, Dracula pawned by an Axe Knight. I tell you, there are videos out there that show them finishing the game with a level 1 Alucard. Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 yes, with decent equipment and knowing the pattern you can own dracula with alucard at lvl1. Oh and I don't recall being able to cast spells as the axe night, though I think you can still use a familiar. Quote
durendal Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Great, then I can use lots of elixer and life apples with the Fairy to keep me alive. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 wow, you guys are hardcore! these are the kind of thngs i can never normally do. i never expermiented withy hte shield rod or other armour or anything like that. Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 well the fact I remember this stuff after almost a decade of not playing it shows how big an influence the game has on me. There really hasn't been anything as ground breaking since in 2D gaming aside from Viewtiful Joy. Super Metroid, Demon's Crest, Megaman 8, and the Castlevania handheld sequals are about the only things that stick out in my mind though I know there are others liek the recent contra games, I have yet to play those. Quote
durendal Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Well, not really hardcore but more of a perfectionist. Besides, I finished the game decades ago. I'm just playing it again now because I wanted to do the things that I wasn't able to do in my first run. In fact, I never made it to 200% in my first game. An example would be killing Galamoth using only the Knife Subweapon. I've kept my save file right before I fight Galamoth so I could experiment more. I just wish there are ways that I could fight the other bosses over and over again. Even beat death using only my bare fist. (Well, technically I was using the Fist of Tulkas) Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 well the Castlevania Judgement game doesn't suck completely. For one the music is great, graphics are pretty decent, and the gameplay is not half bad according to the reviewers in Castlevania Dungeons. I've been listening to the fan rips of the music, so I can at least vouch for that part. Quote
durendal Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Saw some gameplay on youtube and the loading time seems to be a little bit long. I'm not a fan of 3d so I guess I'll pass on this game. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 hmm, that game is a shameless cash-in. castlevania is not a beat em up series. Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 true, but it's still of intrest since it is part of the cannon plot, and fighting fans may dig it. Quote
durendal Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 There is nothing wrong with experimenting, but they should at least try not to become clones of other games. I'm not much of a fan of 3D and fighting games, so I'll be pretty much ignore this game. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 no nothing wrong with experimenting, but when you take a game and defy the very core of of it's beginnings, it's a recipe for disaster. for example, look at resident evil survivor.... sure, experiment with making mini games for a proper full game.. mini games can be fun and they are not important to the success. actually it's kind of funny... the game ehrgeiz... the main game was a fighter but it had a kind of mini game RPG built into it and i had much more fun playing that... Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 me too, I loved the mini RPG. It apparantly was a prototype for Vagrant Story, which was one of the best RPG's ever on the PS1 though hardly known by many. Quote
durendal Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 Yeah, I loved that game. Especially when you riskbreak and do combos. Too bad I never finished the game. Quote
*V Guyver Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 really? it was epic, especially the ending. if I ever get finish moving and get a job, I'll make a plot walk through for you and fan on YouTube. There are a few fan made castlevania games, some are in japanese, thus I can't ever relaly play them through because I don't know what some of the items are. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 fan made castlevania? help us out dude! oh i'm surprised that game was a precursor for vagrant story. but then things are so hazy right now concerning that game. I only remember being able to drop your items in any place and pick them up again. Quote
