Gazham Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 (edited) So my pluqstahl bfc max has a broken hip joint, the peg that is cast into the hip is OK, it's one of the flanges on the leg piece that fits over the peg, meaning the leg falls off. I've previously fixed it with superglue, but it's not an amazingly strong fix. Has anyone tried fixing the joints before? Any tips would be appreciated. I'll get a photo up of the joint in question as soon as I can Edited December 28, 2016 by Gazham Quote

I too would love any tips for this fix. Quote
Gazham Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 I tried loosening the ball joint on the leg then glueing it back together, but the bond wasn't strong enough to allow for posing the figure. Quote
*guyverfan Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 pack some blutak in the joint, and then twist the leg back on so it oozes over the peg, just be sure you clean the surfaces well before applying it, it might work for alittle while? and remember, collectables aren't meant to be played with, lol. Thanks! I will try that. I literally just got him and that same night as i was getting him set up, the leg just came off. I am extremely careful with these figures so I was bummed. He is all pretty and in place now though, so yay! LOL! Quote

Gazham Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 So I had had a chance to fix it this this weekend, I took the ball joint apart, filed everything down with a set of needle files and put lots or layers or glue on the broken part, filing and cleaning after watching layer. it's not perfect, I had to leave the joint slightly loose just to make it easier to pose so the damaged part doesn't break while setting him in position. Is back on display with the gigantics and Imakarum! 2 Quote
