thanosfan82586 Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Dead Space was just released this past Tuesday, and I highly recommend it for fans of the survival horror genre. The atmosphere of the game is a lot like Alien with a bit of Event Horizon and John Carpenter's The Thing thrown in. Quote
guyverfanatic Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I don't really like survival horror games. Too creepy. Quote
WarriorZoalord Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 personally, im waiting for F.E.A.R 2 to come out >> Quote
*zeo Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 F.E.A.R. is a great game and hopefully they can keep it up for 2, the episodic releases were okay... Dead Space though looks like it will be better than F.E.A.R., they are even coming out with a Dead Space animated movie to fill in the plot for the game. Quote

According to my Game Informer, F.E.A.R. 2 is supposed to be F.E.A.R. but a lot more scarry supposedly... they made Alma a lot more creepy from what i've read. Quote
*zeo Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 It's suppose to be a prequel I believe, anyway I've played Dead Space and can honestly say it's an awesome game Quote
Guyver_Astray Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 It's suppose to be a prequel I believe, anyway I've played Dead Space and can honestly say it's an awesome game I agree. And the ending! GOD! Quote
*zeo Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Yeah, we can only wait for the sequel to find out if that was a dream sequence or whether a new hero will be needed In the meantime, what was your favorite scene and/or death? Quote
thanosfan82586 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 I dreaded facing the Necromorph that kept regenerating. I loved when the doctor who created it finally got what he deserved. Quote
*zeo Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Yeah, except the psycho actually wanted it The Necromorph method of killing you though was pretty cool as gruesome deaths go Basically delimbing you, watching your twitching body before finally decapitating you. Quote
Guyver_Astray Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Mine was that really big one. God it's name escapes me. Big, nasty monster that you ran into every now and then. Not the Necromorph. Though that bugger got my blood pumping everytime it was in the room. GOD! Quote
*zeo Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 If you mean the one that looks like it could take on the Hulk then that's a Brute. Best way to handle them is hit it with stasis and dodge around it as quickly as possible as even in stasis if it runs into you then you still get the ram effect. Vulnerable spots are on its back, I've been trying out the Impossible Mode and one time I beat it with zero ammo to spare Check the list from this link to be sure... http://www.deadspacehorror.com/dead-space-enemies Quote
Guyver_Astray Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Yea, that's it. The Brute! That's what it was called. Man that thing was nasty. Quote
*zeo Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 That one actually isn't too hard once you know how to handle it. . . easiest thing to do is just hit it with stasis as soon as you see it (preferably before it charges at you) and then get behind it and hit it with everything you got (yellow modules are its weak spots). Step and repeat as needed, usually leaves a module. Quote
