Coranth Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Hello, my name is Coranth, and I need some help. For about five years now, I've been writing a HUGE 91 page Technical Manual for a "Super" Guyver Unit called the Dreadnought. Forgive me if the name is copyrighted; I started working on this, as I said, five years ago, when I was in College. The idea for the Dreadnought was simple: "What if I could combine the technology of the Yuatja (The "Predators" from the films) with that of the Guyver?" Well, five years on, the Dreadnought has evolved into something amazing; I have technology within the armor not only from the Yuatja, but also from Star Trek, Warhammer 40,000 and dozens of other generes. I know, I know... it's a HUGE breach of copyright, but it's damn fun to work on and it'll never be published. Anyway, now, I need a bit of help. I'm trying to figure out how the momentum boosters of the Guyver Armor work, so that I can place them within the Dreadnought. You know what I'm talking about: the organs on the forearms and calves of the Guyver. I've also seen them referred to as "Power Amplifiers" and that's what I've called them in the Dreadnought Technical Manual. Currently, I've cobbled together a small description of what they do and how they work from various datafiles and sources around the net: 4.3 Structure - Power Amplifiers Incorporated into the forearms and calves of the Dreadnought, these biological organs are a system that the living armor has always possessed, ever since it was just an enhanced Guyver. Essentially, the Power Amplifiers are gravity based momentum boosters, the operation of which can best be explained by mentioning Einstein's famous equation, E=MC²; meaning that matter and energy are interchangeable. By siphoning energy from the Gravitonic Generator, and then coupling said energy to the presiding molecular bonds of the host's muscles, the Power Amplifiers can increase the molecular density of the host's own muscles. {Note: This mass increase is not to be confused as matter generation, it is relativity... by coupling more energy onto an individual particle, it's mass is increased compared to a similar particle in a different energy field.} The result is that while wearing the Dreadnought, although the host may punch and kick and normal speeds, the impact force of punches and kicks will be vastly enhanced to ten times what they would be even with the enormous strength of the armor behind them! Operation of the Power Amplifiers is normally performed subconsciously, but they can be operated via conscious thought should the host so desire. Is what I have written here basically correct, or is it all wrong? If it's wrong, could someone please give me a correct technical description of what these devices actually do, and/or how they function. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated. Thank you all. Coranth Quote
*zeo Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Check out the Guyver Trivia topic, it covers most everything you could want to know about the Guyver technology. As to your question, the Guyver literally channels gravitational energy throughout the body. Gravity and Momentum are interchangeable, so those organs convert the energy directly into momentum. Essentially increasing the effective mass of the Guyver by 10x (Official figure). The same gravity energy also gets channeled to the wrist organs which focus the energy to produce the Pressure Cannon. So the gravity energy is being channeled throughout the Guyver's body. The Gigantic's Barrier Shield fits your description better, since it converts the gravitational energy into the EM field we see as the Barrier Shield. Btw, feel free to publish. Copyright is only an issue if you don't give the originator the credit and/or when you try to make profit from someone else's idea. So as long as you give proper credit to your sources and don't intend to make money off it then you are free to post it up. You can contact TheGuyverWill on this site if you want to have it posted in our fan-fic section? Quote
Coranth Posted April 26, 2008 Author Posted April 26, 2008 Thank you so much for your help; I'm updating the description of this system now... Done! Here's the revised description of the Power Amplifiers: 4.3 Structure - Power Amplifiers Incorporated into the forearms and calves of the Dreadnought, these biological organs are a system that the living armor has always possessed, ever since it was just an enhanced Guyver. By siphoning energy from the Gravitonic Generator, and then converting that energy directly into momentum whilst channeling it throughout the living armor, these gravity powered momentum boosters increase the mass and velocity of the Dreadnought by a factor of twenty. This means that--while wearing the Dreadnought--the host of the living armor will be able to punch and kick much faster and with far greater force than normal. Operation of the Power Amplifiers is normally performed subconsciously, but they can be operated via conscious thought should the host so desire. Pretty cool, no? I've got some pretty crazy tech in the Dreadnought. Replacing the standard Guyver Head Beam is a Forehead Phaser (Star Trek!) with all of its SIXTEEN settings intact. I've got a super-enhanced Yuatja Bio-Helmet with a sh*tload of visual and auditory enhancements. The standard Guyver/Bio-Helm eyes incorporate a sophisticated HUD system. Hell... I've even got a bloody Astral Map that I ripped right out of a TARDIS! And the Control Medallion... my best work. It's got a dimensional transceiver that not only does all the usual (Guyver) stuff, but also acts as a super communications system. You want to listen to radio and watch TV from any part of any world you visit? Well, you can! I love it! Tech, Tech, Tech.... Quote
*zeo Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Well the momentum enhancement doesn't make the Guyver faster, it's more like it makes the Guyver heavier. The effect is like punching and kicking with an anvil attached but you don't feel the weight, only your target does. For example, the new female Guyver in the Manga compared punching through a zoanoid like punching through egg shells. Considering most standard zoanoids are basically bullet proof makes that statement quite significant. (Though this depends on zoaform type, some have very little armor, average is bullet proof, while some-usually hypers-can withstand artillery shells or more) So just basically just overwhelming irresistable force behind every blow. To put this into perspective, G1 weigh's about 575 pounds. So a running punch that puts his full weight into a punch would boost that to 5750 pounds, or just under 3 tons, which multiplied by his speed (unknown but presently assumed to be up to about 250 MPH). Since F=ma (basic rudementary formula version) mean the Guyver is capable of delivering incredible kinetic energy to its target. Even greater would be while in flight, since we think the Guyver can fly up to 300 MPH (unofficial since no official number has been published). But he should be able to reach that just falling from a high place so we can still use that number and estimate the Guyver's (at least G1's) maximum kinetic energy on impact to be up to about 862.5 tons for the time duration of impact. Course a normal punch or kick would be a tiny fraction of that number but still delivers tons of force for even a jab, which is why you usually see the Guyver's fist going right through a zoanoid's chest. (Bullet proof or not that's gotta hurt ) Impact absorbing zoaforms can withstand this however, but with some effort the Guyver can still penetrate. Like in the Manga G1 penetrated Zerebubuth's armor by jumping over him and then slamming down with both feet and his full weight into Zerebubuth's back and smashing right through - G3 later uses that hole to reach in and tear out Zerebubuth's heart (I'm assuming it was the heart anyway considering it wasn't exactly human looking). So the Guyver can basically make itself weigh as much as a large car and still move normally. Only very powerful Hypers, like Zektole, have armor strong enough to require the Guyver to use its weapons to penetrate. While Zoalord's either have super powerful forms or energy shields and require the Gigantic to handle them. Anyway, Coranth , why don't you post a data file of your character in the fan fic section for everyone to review? Quote
Coranth Posted April 26, 2008 Author Posted April 26, 2008 Thanks for clarifying all of that; I think I've finally got the Power Amplifiers of the Dreadnought working properly now. Yay! As for posting the Dreadnought Technical Manual up in the fanfic section... 1. The Dreadnought is not actually a 'character'; it is merely the armor that enhances/modifies the host, thus there are actually "many" Dreadnoughts. 2. The Technical Manual is roughly 1MB in size, and possesses 92 pages. Uh, I don't think I could summarize it in a small datafile... 3. The Technical Manual was originally written about the original, sentient Dreadnought, V'Sharyth, but all of her abilities were passed down to her 'children'--other Dreadnought Units--thus, the Technical Manual is written for "any" Dreadnought (i.e. 'this ability enables the host of the Dreadnought to...' instead of 'this allows V'Sharyth/ V'Sharyth's host to...' 4. The Guyver which would eventually become the Dreadnought--a test unit left behind by the Creators--was obtained from the 'Guyver Universe', however as soon as it was obtained, the host left and returned to his own Universe. Thus, the Dreadnought was never really designed to be a part of the 'Guyver' or 'Warrior Guyver' Universe; I'm not sure how it would stand up to super-power Units such as Zeus, Ultimus, the 'Warrior Guyver Dreadnought', Anubis, etc. 5. Although it will bond with any sentient being like a Guyver, the Dreadnought was adapted to react best with DRAGONS. Also, though a lot of the armor's Guyver 'heritage' is being restored, the Dreadnought is nothing like a Guyver. It bonds completely to the host as a Guyver would, but doesn't 'zoaform' the host as a Guyver does (the host does not "become the Dreadnought"). The armor does, however, connect into the host's body when it is worn. The host's blood flows throughout host and armor so that the Dreadnought can feed off his/her Bio-Energy. As the host breathes the armor obtains oxygen, etc. When worn, it doesn't wither away the host's organs as a Guyver would. In addition to providing roughly the same augmentations/bio-boosting as a Guyver, during bonding, the Dreadnought modifies the host extensively with roughly 30 'enhancements', two hearts, better lungs, kidneys, ears, etc. These are boosted further when the armor is worn, but do NOT get taken away when the Dreadnought is dismissed (that would be fatal to the host!). 6. I...er, don't want my Dreadnought to be thought of as a 'Gary Stu' type thing. The armor is... quite powerful... but it can be used for many other purposes, besides Zoanoid Pest Control. The Typhoon Missile Launcher within the right Shoulder Pod, for example, possesses many different kinds of ordinance, the majority of which are actually non-lethal. The Forehead Phaser, and Sonic Oscillators/Sonic Busters also have multiple settings. The Temporal Core within the abdomen is also another multi-purpose device, absolutely essential for time-critical rescue missions. The powerful Sensor Array and Astral Map? Use them for research, scientific study, mapping the stars... Quote
*zeo Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 1. The Dreadnought is not actually a 'character'; it is merely the armor that enhances/modifies the host, thus there are actually "many" Dreadnoughts. Character's can be classes and/or races too. 2. The Technical Manual is roughly 1MB in size, and possesses 92 pages. Uh, I don't think I could summarize it in a small datafile... Writing a summary data file isn't really much different from writing an essay on a book you read. Most of everything is just fine details, but every single detail isn't needed to explain what the Dreadnought's are and what they can do. My data files for the WG fan fic for example are fairly extensive for a fan fic but summarize tons of information that if I explained every single detail would easily equal or exceed your own page count. Though I wouldn't mind reading through your present full detail tech manual. Hmm, besides the tech manual, have you written any complete stories around these Dreadnought's? 3. The Technical Manual was originally written about the original, sentient Dreadnought, V'Sharyth, but all of her abilities were passed down to her 'children'--other Dreadnought Units--thus, the Technical Manual is written for "any" Dreadnought (i.e. 'this ability enables the host of the Dreadnought to...' instead of 'this allows V'Sharyth/ V'Sharyth's host to...' So your Dreadnought's are sentient? 4. Well, you can start by just comparing it to the Guyver. Most on this board can easily take it from there to compare to the other variant fan fic characters. 5. Although it will bond with any sentient being like a Guyver, the Dreadnought was adapted to react best with DRAGONS. Also, though a lot of the armor's Guyver 'heritage' is being restored, the Dreadnought is nothing like a Guyver. Hmm, how do you explain the host augmentations then, aside from the added or altered organs? The Guyver typically withstand's forces that would literally liquidate a human body if not for the merger and augmentations it normally imposes to make the host more than human. A normal Guyver unit infuses the host with energy from the boost dimension (basically an energy filled version of hyper space) and continuously siphons energy via the gravity control orb. But the organism has to partially merge with the host cells to make this possible and alter the way the host biology works. Guyver strength thus stems from both the energy infusion and the fact the muscles and bones are augmented to be stronger. Cellular growth, etc is increased, which means the host is instantly put into peak physical condition while using the armor. Not to mention the instant remodeling of the host is what helps allow the Guyver retain the same proportions as the host and not bulk up as wearing a full body armor would normally do. Quote
Coranth Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 > Character's can be classes and/or races too. Okay. > Hmm, besides the tech manual, have you written any complete stories around these Dreadnought's? No. I wrote the tech manual because I love Guyver, and I love technology. I love the idea of having all this cool tech in one place! > So your Dreadnought's are sentient? Correct, they are sentient and inherently Good. V'Sharyth, the first Dreadnought, is the only one capable of proper mindspeech and host dream contact (that's how she first revealed herself as sentient) but the others are empathic. i.e. a Dreadnought will generate a feeling of happiness if it likes someone, or a feeling of fear/anger as a warning, etc. > Well, you can start by just comparing it to the Guyver. Most on this board can easily take it from there to compare to the other variant fan fic characters. Hmmm, I do believe that a Dreadnought could quite easily "clean the clocks" of the standard Guyvers and Zoanoids, and possibly Hyper-Zoanoids, but I don't know about Zoalords. In particular, Alkanphel. Just the sight of him scares V'Sharyth... > Hmm, how do you explain the host augmentations then, aside from the added or altered organs? You familiar with the Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine (Adeptus Astartes?) The organs given to THEM are what the Dreadnought gives to its host... and then, when the armor's on, it "boosts" 'em all. Thus, the host is easily strong enough to withstand the rigors of combat in the Dreadnought, I think... Also, the Bio-Plasmic Armor of the Dreadnought is as durable as the shell of the Doctor's TARDIS. Combined with the Guyver regenerative abilities... well, I think 'shar and I should be okay. The Dreadnought also does what your Guyvers here, do: makes the host POTENTIALLY immortal. i.e. you stop physically aging. It's like this... "So, just how old are you, anyway, Cor?" "Biologically, I'm actually about eight thousand years old, Zeo. Physically, however, I'm twenty." "Well, you look pretty good for an old drake..." "Thanks!" Quote
Ultimate W'kar Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Wow I can see you spent many hours in this Ideal. This is very scientific information and ovious not in simple terms maybe I can use you to help me understand how the warrior Wizard Units can work since my Brothers (now I'll refir to him as Seph Star his character) explainations don't make complete sense to me. I had posted the Warrior wizard (fire element) data file, I could tell what he telled me and then you could tell me if thats right. To get to the data file go to the fanfic section and find Latest information on the warrior wizard unit. Quote

To get to the data file go to the fanfic section and find Latest information on the warrior wizard unit. Ultimate W'Kar, Struth! That 'Warrior Wizard' seems like an 'uber' unit with way too much power! He can absorb all light/heat within a solar system? My Dreadnought V'Sharyth, can't do that at all... and she wouldn't if she could... Elder: Look! You see, our planet's sun is dead! Coranth: ~Damn, 'shar, he's right. It's become a black hole. I recognize this work...~ V'Sharyth: ~So do I. It's that damn Warrior Wizard again; he's pulled all the energy out of the sun. What the hell does he need that kind of power for?~ Coranth: ~I don't know... unless he's trying to face an Elder God. Nevertheless, we need to focus on getting these people to a new planet.~ I have no idea how one would use heat energy to increase power, unless he uses some sort of thermal power system. All that power has to be processed somehow... BTW, I did some tinkering with my Dreadnought Unit V'Sharyth; she can now fly as fast as unpowered (Warrior Guyver) Dreadnought; 15,000 MPH for a dragon host, and 7,500 MPH for a non dragon host; these speeds are doubled when either the wings or the plasma jets are used. P.P.S The wings are my own creation. The Plasma Jets, however, were assimilated from a Gigantic Guyver who worked for Chronos. They're grown for non-winged hosts in place of the wings. Quote
Aranor Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I agree. the wizard unit seems way to overpowered. Perhaps for a different fic like say something taking on the olympians. Coranth. check out my 95157 datafile. I too utilize wings. And I also wrote a cross over of guyver/legend of dragoon. (Wings again) You got a cool concept going Quote

Coranth. check out my 95157 datafile. I too utilize wings. And I also wrote a cross over of guyver/legend of dragoon. (Wings again) You got a cool concept going Eh? I don't understand what you mean by this, Aranor. What concept? The concept of a Guyver that can incorporate almost any technology? The concept of a Guyver which augments dragons, (the anthro/non-anthro fantasy creatures, dragons, NOT DRAGOONS)? I don't understand... *sigh* Checked out your '95157' Datafile. That sentient Guyver is crazy, man! But cool. I only hope 'shar and I don't encounter him/it... he'd probably kill us both and move on without missing a beat. *shudders at the thought of it getting hold of the 'Firestorm' Assault Cannon...* Quote
Aranor Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I meant the concept of using wings on the guyver unit. Tails too. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to continue the story......yet. Quote
