New TV

Featured Replies

I just thought I'd share the new addition to my family.

Samsung 56" DLP LCD projection HDTV

Granted, it isn't plasma, or "true" LCD, but with an HD source it still looks bloody amazing... and the fact that it's freaking HUGE doesn't hurt either.

That and there was no way I was going to get a 56" plasma or LCD TV plus TCV stand for $1900 Canadian.

I don't watch enough TV to merrit such an investment!

I need a bigger monitor though.

Still a nice setup.

My friend has a high def projection system. Not sure the exact model or anything. But its an actual projector that sits at the far side of his room. He has a 108 pull down screen that it's projected onto.

I think he got the actual projector for a little over 900, and the screen for about 150.

Still, we only have a 19 inch (it might be bigger! I don't know I never watch the thing!) old school TV. What do you call those? A boob tube?

O_o It's sooo big! *can't look away*

Ohh... I hate you why do you have to have such a big tv. It's not right why must I settle for my tiny 42in LCD when others have much bigger then I. It's so depressing

Bigger isn't always better but I guess it depends on what you are looking at when it really matters. I have to say watching a good game would be one of those moments. Man, Soccer on a big screen. Man that would be good.

Oh man the way my friend has his set up rocks.

He's got a great surround sound system to go with it.

Watching the big game takes a new meaning.

When watching movies things are WAY larger than actual size.

Jurassic Park actually roars.

King Kong was an experience.

And even the classics hold up.

Big screens rock.

If only I had an extra 2-3 grand lying around.
