*Jess♥ Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Here you are people, have a look and see what you think. (make sure you don't miss the 'images' link at the top) http://www.nintendo-europe.com/NOE/en/G ... 8646f3ddf0 Now some people were saying, a while back, that the psp would be more popular because of the sleeker design..... ....Still the case? BloodStorm Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 I'll probobly end up getting both, eventually.. I'll probobly get the DS first though.. I'm a bit scared of the PSP.. any system that would have a lord of the rings Kart Racing game has to be some kind of Unholy.. (and the psp DOES have a LOTR Kart Racer.. ) Quote
nidhogg Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 A LOTR kart racer? Its the apacalypse Run for your life. I swear thats wrong on so many levels. Quote
Guest Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 OMG a LOTR kart racer, this will be the greatest game ever, of course im being sarcastic, the game will probably creep me out on the same level as clowns and leater chaps. Quote
guyverfanatic Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 An LOTR Kart Racer?! What in the world?! Anyway, I might get DS eventually.... Quote
Guest Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 I'm not impressed, it'll take more then a sleeker design to impress me. I personally think the whole concept of the DS is utterly stupid, and I won't be forking out 200 or 250 odd bucks when it comes out over here, I think the DS will be Nintendo's downfall, unless there next Game Boy system can save them. I'll be laybuying a PSP when it comes out, depending on how much it is of course. The only reason why I MIGHT buy a DS is for these games Pokemon Pearl and Diamond and Final Fantasy 3, but I won't be forking out the money all up thats for sure. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 12, 2004 Author Posted December 12, 2004 I won't be forking out 200 or 250 odd bucks when it comes out over here, estimated price tag for NINTEND DS is between 100 and 150 pounds or dollars. before you say "the pound is different value to the dollar" games companies tend to neglect this little insignificant detail and just release over here the same price as the US(numerically). of course that means we have to pay roughly 150% of what americans pay. not that im bitter. but yes expect it to be as cheap as the GBA when that came out. alternatively the PSP is expected to retail around the 250/300 (insert currency here) mark. Drag, what you think is cheap where you live, is actually double or sometimes triple the amount over here. When the GBA and GBA SP first came out over there they were 200 to 250 dollars, the PS2 was almost 500 dollars, the GameCube about 400 bucks and the stupid XBox was almost as much as the PS2, and you don't even want me to get started on how much games cost. Get your facts straight before you comment Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 12, 2004 Author Posted December 12, 2004 If you looked properly you would see that i said in the US. Whilst i assumed that when you said 'bucks' you meant american dollars, i apologise for that. there is no need to be so rude though. Have you considered importing? if it is anything like the gba the games should not be region encoded and should be compatible with other countries. im not sure about the exchange rate with the australian dollar but im sure it would be cheaper this way. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... s&n=507846 i think $125 US is around $160 AUD ? Guest Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Its a fair bit more then that, plus you have to figure in shipping and handling and that can cost a bit depending on what service you use. But like I said I think the idea of the DS is totally ridiculous and the chances of me getting one is almost as good as me getting an Xbox. Not very good chances at all in my books. Quote
WarriorZoalord Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 I saw lots of screen shots for the various games on the forums for a local game place where i live, personally i'm going top probably wait a while, at least until they come out with more DS style games that i like for me to buy this, because quiet frankly, im not paying 149 bucks for a handheld system when it costs the same ammount as a console.... McAvoy Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I played the DS in Best Buy several times, and I am impressed. Though since the government pays me, I am broke. I'll wait until some game that I might like comes up or the price goes down. The only reason why I bought GBA in the first place was for Legend of Zelda, Breath of Fire 1 and 2, and the upcoming Final Fantasy III game. All of them by the way are all from my childhood. Ahhh... I remember the good old days when we had the old Ninendo. You had to blow in it, literally ram it in, put a useless second game on top of that so it would stay down... Then if you're lucky it would work on the first time. Don't get me started on the original Gameboy that's the size of some portable DVD players.... Quote
