Guest Posted May 5, 2004 Posted May 5, 2004 I've just heard that Guyver is in another Language already! I was talking to a freind of mine today, and it hit me, 'how does he already know about guyver?' Well, apparently it's been on tv already back in Malaysia where he comes from. He then kinda preceded to tell me all about Malaysian dub quality... all anime done in Malay is acted out by four people: -a young man -a ditzy girl -a little kid -and an older gentlmen These four people play every charactor in every series in the county (and we thought we had it bad). He also points out that, well, they don't always act. And if you're worrying about the translation, don't. The translators don't even need to know Japanese. They just look at the screen and fill in the blanks most of the time. It usually makes for a pretty entertaining series he says. In fact, Guyver isn't even called Guyver over there. The Malaysian name for the series is: Black Seed Knight well, either that or dark fertilizer warrior. The malay translation can use basically any combination of those words, but he's pretty sure it's 'Seed' instead of 'fertilizer'. Quote
Guest Posted May 5, 2004 Posted May 5, 2004 the black fertilizer warrior? oh man makes me curious what the rest of the translations are Quote
daveblackeye152 Posted May 5, 2004 Posted May 5, 2004 When will the DVD of Black Seed Warrior come out? Hey what are the Zoanoids called , I'm betting they're called Demons. Hmmm Test tube demons. Quote
guyverfanatic Posted May 5, 2004 Posted May 5, 2004 Good lord no.... This is a travesty! They may as well have fandubbed it! Quote
Guest Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 Dark Ferterlizer Warrior? I like that I would watch a show called that. Quote

Guest Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 I'm just surprised that they managed to use four voice actors for the entire show. I meen, Balcus is played by the same guy that did Lisker, Guyot, Malmot, Genzo, and Aptom. The guy that plays Sho also plays Agito and freinds. That's a little weird. (Note, Isaac said this was years ago, and done very badly) It's still weird. Oh, and I'm guessing about who played what. Quote

Guest Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 The voice-over of Agito Makishima isn't the actor who voices Sho Fukamachi (Tom Charles); Agito is played by Steve something, the same guy who voiced Spike Spiegal and many other characters in various Japanese animations! Thank you for allowing me to clarify for jo0 ;D Quote

Mutronics Posted May 10, 2004 Posted May 10, 2004 I had heard froma translation site that the the word we know "Zoanoid" is an incorrect translation and that the lkiteral translation is "Beast Soldier". I've only read this from a translators notes and he only translated the first 2 graphic novels though and i've since lost the notes. Also maybe Black Seed Knight is another way of saying Dark Progeny Warrior. If you shift the translation a little biut, (like most offical translation companies) you can come up with something a little more pallatble. Quote

Thank you for allowing me to clarify for jo0 ;D The actor who did Agito Makishima's voice in the anime is Steve Blum. When i looked him up on imdb.com, i noticed i've been hearing the great Agito years after the Guyver anime. He is the voice of Tom on Cartoon Networks Toonami, imagine that huh. Quote
Guest Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 careful guys, this is an official guyver topic. Let's not turn it into an rpg of fanfic. Quote
