Vaporise? No.

Destroy? Possibly.

You see, there is a BIG difference on "Vaporising" a planet, and "Destroying" a planet. Vaporising consists of engulfing the whole thing, and basically turning it into it's mere atoms.

Destroying, could mean he breaks it into 4 or 5 big pieces ( or more). Planet is still dead, just a lot of debris.

To vaporize a planet does not mean engulf it. Though somehow you would have to create an explosion from within. Death Star's an example, though it doesn't entirely vaporize the planet, it destroys it into small asteriods the size the Falcon.

Since the mega smashers do not stop themsevles, Anubis can continuously fire t hem. So therefore he can given time destroy the planet, then vaporize the remaining pieces.

McAvoy, Zeo answered my question I was thinking of vaporising as taking a planet out in one go not in two or more blasts but your contrabution is appreciated.

To answer your question, no you cannot vaporize a planet with only 500 megatons in a single go. You would require a billion times that give or take.

Well, just for perspective, in geological terms that gives Anubis Mega Smashers a Volcanic Explosivity Index(VEI) of between 6 (~200 Megatons) and 7 (~1 Gigaton).

That's enough to alter the world weather with one blast for say a year or so.

Extremely powerful but nowhere near the power needed to blow up the whole planet, let alone vaporize it.
