  1. Well, I'm starting to learn how to play an auto-harp. An auto-harp has buttons that'll play chords when the strings are strummed. There was only one at the music store and I was there to look at fiddles originally. Then Dad pointed out the harp and offered to buy that as a graduation present or the fiddle. I nearly said the SOB phrase in the store and I picked the auto-harp and the store owner set me up with everything I needed to get started (picks, book, and tuning wrench).
  2. Thanks Ryuki! New blog post I was browsing through YouTube again today, this time searching for video clips on one of my favorite comedians named Gabriel Iglesias. I've been needing a few laughs for a while now, and I found this clip that I know any parent would do to their kid. Edit: My Guyver fanfic on fanfiction.net is now up to date. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6804970/1/Heiress_of_Alkanphel Please, if anyone has an account there, please please please write a review on it.
  3. I just got a scholarship in from the university I'm going to! Hell yeah! Now I've got two scholarships to help pay for tuition and housing!
  4. That's kinda weird in a way. I was born in 92, same year that my favorite Disney movie was released in theaters. Hmm... I might actually do that, Ryuki.
  5. I was browsing through YouTube and I came upon this in my Favorites list. Beautifully played. I haven't heard this song in a long time.
  6. Yeah, I have no way to read the first few volumes without ordering them off of eBay. I've got volumes 6 and 10, but that's not very helpful getting an idea of what his earlier style was like. I can see improvement in the more recent chapters for sure however. The earlier anime was done in 92
  7. I'm sorry Ryuki. I should have been clearer. I meant that in most animes you see that there are elements of the creator's story telling style in it. I meant that the 80's Guyver didn't appear to have Takaya's story telling style in most places. I was just a little dissapointed with the storyline and the inconsistancy of the animation. It's still a good anime. I didn't mean to insult you or any other Guyver fans out there.
  8. Finally got around to watching the old 80's version of the Guyver anime. Personally I like the newer 2005 version better because you can tell that in the 2005 version that Takaya-sensie was there to influence it. In the 80's version...well, it kinda looked like a fanfic to me...The story wasn't following Takaya's style if you understand what I mean. It just didn't feel right is what I think I'm trying to say about the story line. Also, what in the hell happened to the animation after Murakami arrived. It was good before he showed up, but the quality just dropped after he makes his first appearance. Did they switch animation directors or something?
  9. You're welcome to take some of our rain clouds when they come this way again
  10. Finally, a good weekend. No clouds, no rain, just sunny and warm. To start it off, Friday morning was Senior Breakfast (for seniors) and I was told I am recieving an Acedemic Award in Greenhouse Managment. Today was defuzz the house day, meaning me and dad did some serious spring cleaning. Also there was the Band Banquet for the high school band. All seniors got a Senior Band Award for sticking with band througout their high school years. There were also some national award given, and musicians that competed in competitions were also recognized. We even had a slide show this year at the end of the banquet. All in all it finally looks like a good, sunny weekend.
  11. The town's getting back on it's feet slowly but surely. Even our rival town is helping out. Yeah, it was hard to go through town and see what was beautiful now ruined or damaged. I'm use to seeing a lot of trees while going through town and it was a shock to see most of them ruined beyond repair.
  12. Sorry for my absensce. A tornado hit my home town last week. It's bad. Really bad. An entire subdivision gone and four people dead sort of bad. What once was a pretty small town is now a dissaster. At first I didn't recognize my town while driving back to school Monday. The Tsunami relief jar in Band class is now the Tornado relief jar.
  13. One more fanart, and an assignment from two years ago in Art 3. This is Zorua, from the Pokemon series. This is the only Pokemon that can create illusions, and is also called a Tricky Fox Pokemon. Last Art III assignment. Objective: create a world based off of a fairy tale (can be from Harry Potter and such), and put yourself in it. Fairy tale used: Eragon. Location: Trojehm (dwarf capital located in a hidden mountain crater)
  14. I'll be a college student this fall! I just got accepted at the college I took a tour at! WOOHOOO!!!
  15. Dad found himself a job! [emote=monkey]yay[/emote] Woohoo!
  16. Just got back from a college tour. I also got done applying to the college, just have to send in some transcripts and I'll know if I get to go or not. I know what major I'm going to do (Graphic Design Art). Now I can't wait to get the hell out of high school.
  17. Went to Concert Conteset today. We, the band, made on stage: 2 2 1; and in sight reading: 1. Translation for numbers: 1st division=best rank to get and made very little mistakes; 2nd=okay rank and made several mistakes; 3rd=poor rank and messed up a lot of things in the music. We got some good ratings for a 2nd high school band in our state.
  18. I've finally got my art portfolio ready for my upcoming college day. Next week Mrs. R (the art teacher) is going to help me matt or mount some of them to make them look more professional when one of the art proffessors goes through it. A college day is where a high school student goes on one of their school days and tours a college campus of their choice, sit in one of their classes, and possibly get interviewed. Hopefully it'll go well and I'll be closer to making my decision on which college I want to go to once I graduate.
  19. I wouldn't worry about being too old to read Harry Potter - that's why they have "Adult Cover" Versions Though, I own them all with the Children's Covers. I was about 14 when the first book came out, which put me in my late teens/early 20's when the last one was released I liked it in the beginning, but it just started to disappoint me after the fourth book and I really disliked the ending. For a moment, I thought the Ranger's Apprentice was an alternate title for the Assassin's Apprentice - a series that I quite liked, but never got around to finishing...(puts on "To Read" list). But after researching, my assumption was wrong...what is the Ranger's Apprentice about? Another book series I'm quite fond of is the Redwall Series by Brian Jacques. It's aimed at young readers and the cast is all anthro-animals, but the writing's really good. Harry Potter came out when I was still in Elementry school and my mom forced me and my brother to read it since the school we went to years ago had a poor library. The last book came out a month before I started my freshman year here in America. The fourth book really catch my attention much, but the rest is good up until well known characters start dying. Ranger's Apprentice is about an orphane whom is taken into an apprenticeship by a King's Ranger. It's set in the Medivel era when feudalism flourished.
  20. I think everyone that watched it at the theaters said that it was a watse of money. Why do you not like the series after watching that POS movie? Christopher Paolini didn't have any influence in its making as far as I know. The books are still good, the movie just sucked.
  21. Eldest is the second in the series. If you do read Eragon and like it, be sure to get Eldest before reading Brisingr or you will be lost and confused. I think you would be glued to Mr. Paolini's series because he portrays the story in a way that you can easily picture it in your mind. I'm kinda of a detail person and I love it when characters and scenes are described out in long lengths and the series has lots and lots of detail in it.
  22. There are currently three books out for the Eragon series (Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr), and there's suppose to be a fourth one coming out that the author is taking his sweet time with. All three books out are really good; I was addicted to the first when my brother got it for me for my birthday years ago when the movie came out and I still read it. Christopher Paolini knows how to keep the readers on the edge of their seats and at the same time keep readers entertained in detail paragraphs. All in all it comes down to what you're in to. Do you like dragons and magic? If so, then I would recomend this, because it has a lot of both in there along with some other magical races.
  23. I like mostly fantasy stories like Eragon and Harry Potter (I know: I'm kinda old for it). I've been trying to get the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series from the school library and there's a long waiting list for every single book. I've read all of the Ranger's Apprentice books so far, and I recomend it for those who love stories. I absolutly dislike the Twilight series. Hmmm... Actually, I'm fairly certain that anyone could kick Edward's butt, even a Citissis from Guyver could kill him.
  24. Hmm...we didn't redecorat anything, but dad and big brother have been going to CDL class and that's pretty much the only big change that I know of at the moment. We didn't have a problem with the other two cats when the little cat moved in with us back in December. Blog post Went up to my grandma's with my dad this weekend. I ended up helping the Master Gardeners group up in the Fort Smith area on Saturday by working in their first greenhouse. They were tickled to death to find out I was in greenhouse management class and I ended up teaching them how to properly repot plants in a greenhouse. Still it was fun.
  25. Ryuki, thank you for suggesting the lemon juice method to repel the cats. I tested lemon scented furniture polish on my great-grandma's old rocking chair (one of the cat's favorite scratch posts ) and none of the cats has gone near it since. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! PS: They've stopped getting on my desk too since I used it!
