  1. Sadly, I understood both of you. I understood Ryuki because I tend to write a lot (and I also pointed out a thousand or so grammar mistakes in the Twilight books to one of my friends in high school just to annoy them). Durendal used Yoda as a reference, and I actually didn't know he spoke like that I might actually follow your advice on reading raw Japanese manga with a dictionary in hand. Thank you both!
  2. Hmm....Ryuki, can we try to learn the grammar structure first? It would probably help out a lot if we knew how the sentences are structured in Japanese.
  3. Holy cow I didn't think my college could get any cooler! Just got back from the Halloween Costume Ball. Had a blast there as a black sorceress, especially when I danced to a few certain songs with some cute guys Now....I need sleep....zzzZzz.....
  4. I spoke with the instructor yesterday, and he's allowing me to redo the assignment. I just emailed him my redos this morning after getting help from fellow classmates in the same CI class. Hopefully I'll get a passing grade.
  5. I'm ready to cry. Not just cry my eyes out, but cry an entire ocean. I just learned that I failed Critical Inquiry because I didn't do a Letter of Recomendation assignment, and I didn't know how to make one. The instructor gave us no direction as to where to start, and he hasn't been helpful with the Resume assignment he gave us. I don't know what to do.
  6. Family Weekend went well. Got lots of stuff sold at the Art club booth, and lots of customers at the Nerd and Fortissimo booths. Family Weekend is when students get to bring their families and friends to the campus and hold a huge fundraiser for all campus organizations. There were also some competitions for the residence halls such as decorating the lobbies. It's a fun event, but sheesh I didn't expect so many people to buy stuff at the Art booth.
  7. Yeah, seeing as how many pages we've taken up so far I think it would be best to split it.
  8. Ahhh, I thought I saw Ryuki in there.
  9. ....I'm starting to hate my little dictionary. Are you saying I'm getting good at translating Japanese, Durendal? Or did I totally get that wrong?
  10. Sorry Wales wasn't listed in my Japanese/English dictionary. I'm so sorry!
  11. Okay, I think I've got it translated. Does it mean "I am an English person"? Durendal, you can help too if you want.
  12. In the anime it looked black, but I wouldn't know since his entire body was covered by the cape. Now that I think of it, in the manga it looked a little too light to be the same blue color as the other Zoalords....it might be a lighter color. I think I've got part of it right: "Boku ha ueeruzu person desu". I noticed that boku is a masculine word used by males, but I'm having trouble translating the katakana.
  13. Hmm..."??? hauee rzu (enter/put in) desu".... Can I have a hint please? Edit: Does anyone know what color Alkanphel's Zoalord uniform is? I know his cape is white, but I want to know what color the one peice is.
  14. It was a good challenge. I found the kanji to be easier to translate than the hiragana. More challenges would be most appreciated
  15. So it means "Today is payday (Friday)"?
  16. Kiyo u ha kinu bi desu. Clever cormorant....okay, I'm lost. I've got the computer to show the Kanji, so let me try that. This day school money ??? now desu..... Is this even close?
  17. My computer's not wanting to show the kanji. I can see 'ha' and 'desu', the hiragana part, but the kanji is shown as tiny box things.
  18. Yeah, I went shopping for Japanese language tutorial CDs with mom during the summer holiday this year; I am not paying $80 just for a cardboard box with three or so damn CDs. Especially since I have a truck that kills gas like I kill cookies. I think I would learn better if I had a teacher; I seem to learn things faster if I have someone good to teach me the subject. Thanks Ryuki.
  19. can I ask where the hell you learned to read Japanese? Apparently I'm going to need a teacher to teach me the proper grammar of the written language. I know Kanji is the borrowed Chinese caracters (and Japanese students are required to learn 2000 caracters from the Kanji script) katakana is for foreign words and hiragana is true Japanese words. So, are you saying that the Guyver has all three scripts in it?
  20. I've been meaning to ask: is Guyver written in kanji or one of the kanas? I'm learning to read Japanese, and I wanted to know which system the Guyver is written in so I know which one to study.
  21. Went home over the weekend and found a local anime shop that opened up over the summer. Holy cow I had died and gone to heaven. Not everyday you find an anime shop in the Natural State. I found a Guyver poster there, along with a DVD I'd been looking for, and some random comic book that teaches kids how to read Japanese hiragana and katakana. I really wished I could've gotten a costume from there....but alas, where the hell would I put it until I needed the blasted thing?
  22. Sorry for not updating this in a while. Here's Ch. 24 http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6804970/24/Heiress_of_Alkanphel
  23. Stupid autism! Stop kicking my butt in Composition class! End randomness... I think I've got some people in the Nerd Club on campus interested in the 2005 Guyver anime. I know one of them has gone as far as to look up the manga online, and I loaned out my Vol. 1 DVD to another member last week and now the club president has it this week. That reminds me: I got into a debate about the anime from the 80s with an all out geek member (we call him the anti-president...not sure how that started). We had fun discussing the old anime, especially when we started debating on the 2nd part of the OVA.
  24. I can see Kurumeggnic saying "Damn it! I shouldn't have loaned it to that idiot!" when it gets destroyed.
  25. Went to an art reception on campus and went to a concert also on campus. The art exhibit consisted of photography of the damage done by the tornado outbreaks back in March/April. That was kinda hard on me because there were a few scenes I recognized from my home town and it brought back some sad memories for me. My friends were also there and they decided after the artist spoke that they (my friends) would drag me over to the concert that was happening at the same time as the reception. The concert was good; no slow sappy achybreaky heart crap. The musician was cool, he even went and stalled while one of the students went to the bathroom. That made me feel a lot better since we were cracking up and having a good time. I even went a head and bought his CD, along with another dude's CD and got that one signed. In short: I'm happy
