Are you more of an optimist, pessimist or just both? Sort of? Kind of?

I'm sort of both as it depends. I'm both optimistic and pessimistic as it varies from time to time. I try not to focus on the bad things. Used to I was a pessimist, but now...I like to look at the good things in life. So I vote for the in between.  :whoo:

This is some hard concept for me to understand. All I can say: right now are good times in the world, better than they were 10 or 100 or 1000 years ago. I also believe in technological singularity which will lead to invention of half-Laplace's demon device to restore once destroyed structures (e.g. humans or my precious cellphone) :loopy:  Guess that makes me overoptimist.

I am definitely more of a pessimist. Not to say I don't have optimism in smaller doses, in certain situations.

But that comes from a life that has had too many broken promises and failed decisions. I'm not really a Negative person though. I just tend to look at a lot of things from a more pessimistic or "realistic" view as I sometimes refer to it as.

But I thankfully find that it's that view that allows me to be pleasantly surprised a lot more when things do go well, or better. I find that keeps me more grounded, and much less likely to be actually get sad or disappointed when something fails badly.

I'm an optimistic realist, My dad is a big pessimist and being around that for such a long time I wanted to be different from that. But I will follow my gut/intuition which so far has been right most of the time.
