Visual Kei

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any good suggestions for really good Visual Kei bands? I am looking for something on the heavy side, but I am open to those kinds of bands that like to experiment with their sound. The bands that I am currently aware of are Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois, Dir in grey, Versailles, and Girugamesh. I know a few others, but these are the ones that I actually have listened to the most.

I don't really know what you are talking about I'm afraid. I know it's music and I recognise the name 'malice mizer' so the best I can do is tell you the one thing I know and that is  'Gackt' used to be the lead singer for malice mizer so maybe Gackt will be to your liking? I like it anyway.

Richard, one of my friends on facebook Might actually be of some help here. I haven't kept up. I listen to a lot of bands, but many are experimental. Such the group Mint Jam, it's gone in several directions and never stuck to one style of music, switching between Midi, Visual Kei, acoustics, and even ends up doing soundtracks.

The wonderful thing about things like Visual Kei is that so many experiment in the specific sub-genre's. They do a damn good job since so many on our coast don't risk doing the same. I noticed that the japanese music industry tries to push out a lot more variety of music, and don't stick to trends as long as the US music industry does.
