I was wondering how does the control medal restore its host's memories?  I mean twice, Sho has been completely obliterated except for the CM and during his fight with his father(Enzyme II) who had ripped Sho's head apart; how would the Guyver restore memory?  Would it be because the CM is directly connected to the brain and is able to log those memories?

 

The reason I ask is that I just recently re-watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine; and at the end when he is shot in the head and his body regenerates the damage, but not his memory.

Probably because the control medal is a super computer and probably stores a copy of the host's memories and consciousness inside of it moments before death since Sho doesn't remember killing his father only that his father had transformed and thats it. He also doesn't remember how the first enzyme fight went down either only that he was in a fight.

 

I'm guessing the Relic's Medal probably saved his memories to when he interfaced with it and when it combined with his guyver unit's medal it helped recreate him again.

control metal stores host state on a molecular level. I think. it's pretty detailed anyway. and even if it was just on a cellular level, I am pretty sure the configuration of the neural pathways is something that would be stored along with that. I mean, it restored Shou's scar so it's storing a fairly accurate template.

memory is basically well worn pathways within the neural network so it's not really much of a stretch.

Memory is chemical based, all it had to do is memorize all the chemicals. If it can do DNA, it can do chemical memory.

That would make sense.  Then the next thing would be, does the Guyver understand memories?  I'm just thinking that after Sho first returns with the Gigantic and defeats Neo-Zxtol; he is unconcious, but the unit removes itself entirely and leaves Sho with his friends/allies.  Has the Guyver come to recognize that these people don't mean any harm to the host?  I mean, I don't think the Guyver would normally just remove itself unless "commanded" to by the host?

memory is pretty abstract. a lot of the time, our recollection of something includes a lot of 'filling in the gaps' with information we know to be true. so for example, we have a memory of sitting with our mother. The actual memory of that event really doesn't hold much information about what our mother looks like, if any at all. we have a collection of information about our mother's visual appearance. nowhere near as detailed as a photograph, but with specific markers that aid recognition. I mean that's why we recognise people even if they have changed a hell of a lot. we still recognise those specific markers. something such as the distance from one nostril to the corner of the mouth as compared to the length of the nose. there is no image of a person stored in our memory. just various observations that aid in recognition. that is why everyone can recognise their family, but many are hopeless at drawing. because in fact they have literally no idea what those people really look like. Also, these memories, these observations, they are stored all over teh brain in different sections pertaining to smell, touch, sound etc.

 

So to summarise and extrapolate, The CM would have to emulate the brains functions completely in order to understand those memories.
I guess the CM could track the hosts response to various people while the guyver is equipped. It could build its own library of trusted individuals.

Yeah, like Ryuki says, human memory pretty much functions as quickly assembled jumble puzzle. It's not always accurate despite how vivid. In the case of the CM, I don't think it stores much other than the blueprints to human Chemicals of DNA and Memory. At least not until much later did we have Sho actively have a sort of focus on his friends, but that was thanks to the Relic CM apparently following his will and why he managed to hear Mizuki half way around the world. Otherwise, I feel that Sho in the past had been simply more receptive to his friends (because he wakes up when they scream, even when not in the Guyver but still technically KO'd) and the Guyver Unit just amplifies it because of proximity and sound.
