So I am creating a fan wiki page with a fictional fan story of many different Historical Characters from the Medieval Era. I would like to do something that I believe would be fairly simple accept I have no idea how to use the workshop or do it any good at all. I would like to switch two basic colors of the Templar uniforms from a red cross to a white cross and from a white tunic to a red tunic. Is anyone good enough with this workshop that could give some advice on how to do this, or any good at it? I am not wanting to repaint it, in like micro paint etc, I mean a really good switch of colors as if you couldn't tell it was Photoshopped without a good hard look.

Of course all source material will be provided and given to the respected owners.

Really? Awesome man! This means a lot I greatly appreciate this, as well as anyone else who assists in any way (as with the Guyver Advoc team)! =)

The Character Reynald de Chatillon (portrayed by Brendan Gleeson in the Film Kingdom of Heaven) I have several pictures of him, however in this particular picture I was hoping to reverse the colors of the Templars in the background and the Shield that one of them is holding in front of his body, in the background as well as the flag behind Gleeson's character.

I unfortunately have not been able to upload the other images as they are too big for the post either that or I might be able to upload them one at a time. Again I greatly appreciate this! =)

Yeah I'll be able to upload the pictures but I believe it'll have to be one at a time. Here is the concept of what I was trying to do for the Templar characters. These two Templar's are from the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Here is Reynald's character again. From Sir Ridley Scott's film Kingdom of Heaven and portrayed by Brendan Gleeson.

I don't want to overwhelm anyone (As I do have quite a few pictures I would like to do this to) so I'll leave these two for tonight and will post the others at your/their convenience.

It's not a simple thing to do. you have to balance colour and make sure it's masked properly.

although somebody who does this kind of thing all the time it's a walk in the park.

I've had a bit of practice so I think this is good enough for your needs?

I can look at the other pic later

I hope somebody else can help, I shouldn't really offer to help when I don't actually have the free time to spend on this kind of thing.

Yeah why I didn't post them, I know you are giving up your own personal time to help me here and I don't want to be pushy or overwhelm you with that. I do greatly appreciate you taking the time to assist me with what you have though, it does mean a lot, as well as anyone else who would be willing to assist in this endeavor.

Well to my amazement I discovered that my laptop had Photoshop V6 on it. I've been playing around with it though I am still exceptionally new to this. I watched some tutorials on youtube and I was able to change the colors of an image, but I am not pleased with it. Would anyone be willing to give advice on some touch ups or on how to color the outlines? I've been using the lasso but it's somewhat difficult to color the lines themselves.

Also to note I tried to save the image but it will only let me open it up in photoshop. I also tried to attach it here but the file is way too big, and when I open the file in pictures it has all the tools on the side bars as well. I remembered taking courses on Photoshop and Illustrator in DDT but that was years ago, and I really am starting from scratch again lol. Any help or adviced would be greatly appreciated!

Well, my format of choice is PNG outside of the full function of the Photoshop project files. The project files save all your work, all your layers and skins, but if you want a solid final Product, always go for PNG when you want it online. Best quality format I can think of.

yeah, you need to choose 'save as' and then select the file format. PNG is a good format, but JPG is most common due to the compression. the file sizes are generally smaller and therefore easier to deal with on the web.

you've been using the lasso tool, this is a way to do it but very hit and miss. better to have a look at how to use masks. then use a colour adjustment layer with a mask. that way, you can adjust the mask as much as you like using a standard paintbrush.
