*Jess♥ Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I'm really impressed with what they have done with this series after the farce we have had recently. Gaim has a top dog story. I mean, there is a damn good reason to keep watching! it's not predictable and it has mystery and intrigue. I really like what they did with mitsuzane/micchi, they have him sort of in the middle, on one hand he wants to keep people happy but on the other hand he is in with yggdrasil. I don't know fully what any of their motives are and that is what makes it great. 1 Quote
LordSpleach Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I believe Micchi isn't necessarily in with Yggdrasil more than loyalty(not blind) to his brother. I don't think anyone else could've convinced him. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I don't necessarily think it's about that though.... there is part of their plans that we have not been shown yet. plans that were not mentioned to kouta. So whilst we know micchi was shown the city and kouta was also shown hte city, there is something else that micchi knows. I can't remember exactly what but I think they mentioned 'ark'? 1 Quote
LordSpleach Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 True. Either way, we can look forward to the next episode. Quote
odin Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) very true guys, what do you guys think so far of Zangetsu/ Takatora and the debate with Kouta/ Gaim with what needs to be done ? who do you think is on the right? do you believe like Kouta that there is another way or is being the villain in order to save the world and bare with your sins the right path that Takatora chose the correct one? also what do you guys think of Zangetsu's views over Kouta? he obviously respects him in some way and to me the last episodes seemed like he is depending on Kouta's actions and looks for some kind of hope in order to either destroy most of the population and continue with Project Ark, Also very interesting function of the Rider Belt's allowing people to sustain themselves in the forest without turning into inves. LordSpleach Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Yggdrasil is starting to remind me of Chronos a lot. I still wonder who is DJ Sagara? 1 Quote
LordSpleach Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Now that we know that the mysterious woman is now The First Woman! I still wonder who DJ Sagara is? Could he...............be.... Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 new episode?? great! i won't click the spoiler buttons yet... can't wait to come back and see what's happened 1 Quote
LordSpleach Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) Now that we know that the mysterious woman is now The First Woman! I still wonder who DJ Sagara is? Could he...............be.... I pretty convinced at this point that my theory is correct.DJ Sagara must be the third/blue Overlord Edited April 10, 2014 by LordSpleach Quote
Toku Warrior Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I'm not really fond of Gaim. I hate the suits...though only Kurokage's was a good design. Baron's kind of a deuch and Bravo...or whatever his name is....that bakery guy....yeah, he gives me the creeps. I will admit it does have some decent mystery to it, though when U have the guy who did a series like Agito attached to Gaim and it isn't impressing me all that much...yeah, I doubt anything good will come from Gaim, imo. Anyway, I only got up to episode 20 and haven't seen anything after it. So, just to know, and U don't have to post spoilers, just tell me, have I missed anything truly important from 21+? Quote
LordSpleach Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Just the bulk of the mystery so far, and what Yggdrasil plans to do. Quote
odin Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 26 episodes in and I keep loving every second of it, [spoilers]the subbers have gotten the chance to translate the overlord's language [/spoilers] and michy shows his true colors finally which was I was predicting he would do, his character has gotten very obsessive, Kaito is pretty transparent and makes me laugh of the Irony of him always preaching about power yet he is the weakest next to michy out of the 4 main riders. also next episode we will probably see a change of alliances again and a pretty unexpected one at that. can't wait. Quote
odin Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 episode 31, everything gets very escalated and we get almost the complete story of how the previous civilization perished on the previous episode and a few surprises come in this one, also Sid dies a horrific death even for Kamen Rider standards, I think I have not seen something like that since Faiz, anyways, can't comment more of this episode cause it would spoil a lot of what happens, can't wait for the next episode. Quote
odin Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 a very good episode today, only saw the raw but thanks to my practice of the language I'm more or less understanding it now, anyways just a thought, I have a theory that the civilization that was consumed by the forest may be actually an alternate time universe from Gaim, this thought came to my mind when I first saw the Green overlord, if you notice he actually looks like michy in his rider form only organic-like also his personality seems like a more twisted cunning version of michy who is already becoming more and more evil as the story progresses as well as the red overlod who seems a bit like Kaito although only personality wise and a lot more twisted as well, there is also a lot of christian religion references in this series as well as norse as you can tell by the name of some stuff and the prize everyone is after. What are your thoughts folks? how do you like the series so far? and which is your favorite rider form, mine is obviosly kachidoki but Zangetsu's basic form is still one of the best designs in my opinion. *Jess♥ Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 thanks for your comments in this thread Odin. Although I could not read any of it without getting spoilers, it pushed me to join this series. I was quite intrigued at the start and found a lot of the setup to be quite interesting. there is a lot of influence from Kamen Rider Ryuki. a LOT. now I'm all up to date on this series and waiting for the next episode. It's difficult to be objective when in the midst of a series, but for the time being I feel like this is the best Kamen rider series I have seen full stop. The characters are genuinely interesting and I honestly do not know what is going to happen or what the characters are going to do. main drawback is.... now I have no more episodes to watch I am feeling terribly depressed. LordSpleach Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Welcome to the Armored Rider Fight, Yuki! 2 Quote
odin Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Welcome to the Gaim gang indeed yuki, I'm glad you like it, honestly I think this series will take over KR OOO as my favorite series, a lot of mystery, suspense, well done action and a very intriguing story, the costumes may not be everyone's cup of tea (I for one love the designs) but the story and characters more than make up for it. Last weeks episode was very intense and has finally sold me on Mitchy being a serious threat and one of the best Evil riders that I have seen so far (next to Kaixa of course, don't think you can top that bastard but Mitchy is up there) proving that you don't need a high grade lock seed to kick all kind of as, you will know what I'm talking about when you see this episode, he is also getting pretty creepy with his laugh, Baron has finally grown on me as well, I just wish he had another rider form aside from Lemon energy arms. 1 Quote
*Jess♥ Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I agree, I don't like the energy arms at all. They seem unfinished. I'd like to see him with a powerful fruits like kachidoki arms. Kachidoki arms was my favourite. it was so cool. I'm not a big fan of the newer one. why did they have to go with the cone head again? T_T well it's definitely more palatable that fourze. I can manage to ignore the cone head and it's not too bad. but kachidoki is just the best! really cool powerful armour, and I love the symmetry. so I really loved the story element of mitchi being a nasty S.O.B. and it was nicely played out how he betrayed the rest and how they didn't know and would never have believed it. but now they know and now takatora is out of the picture, I can't help but feel a big part of the story is over. I'm also a little bugged by the extended multiple universes. I'm hoping it's not going to trail off because that would be disappointing. we still have over 10 episodes left so there is plenty that could happen. I hope that it all makes sense. by the way, did you guys know or realise that the producer for Gaim is the same producer who did Gobusters? Kinda makes sense in retrospect, doesn't it? Both series have excellent story but low ratings. they need to change the time slot. these stories are too good for little children. Quote
odin Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 yea, not a fan of Kiwami arms either but it is growing on me day by day, about the head tho, I think the reason for it to look like that is because Gaim's warrior theme is based on Samurai armor I think Kiwami arms is meant to resemble one of Oda Nobunaga's armors which has a helmet shaped like that if I'm not mistaken. Kachidoki arms is also my favorite design it just so awesome and intimidating every time I see it. Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 What do you find wrong with the helmet, blunt skulls? On the serious note, the final form does look good besides the helmet. I'm still wondering how Ryoma Sengoku plans to take the forbidden fruit? Quote
odin Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Episode 41 subs are up and my reaction is.....wow......very dark, very gruesome and epic at the same time, I was on the edge of my seat every minute and now with the revelation of the golden fruits power revealed on the last episode the stakes could not be higher, we all can imagine more or less (since the series has been a bit unpredictable) how this will end now the question is WHO will be the final opponent of the series, won't name the possible candidates cause it spoils this episode so I will wait for Friday to pick my candidates as well as how I think the series will end as well as how I wish it would end so stay tuned. Quote
odin Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 damn......latest episode felt like a game of thrones episode, lets just leave it at that. also Baron's overlord form looks like a what if tekkaman blade turned into a fangire, I love it. Quote
LordSpleach Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 What? Does Tyrion Lannister slap Michy silly? Quote
DarkGUYVERfan Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 What? Does Tyrion Lannister slap Michy silly? no but for a second it looked like Kaito was going to do that. Love the implications about the sanity slippage of various characters in this one episode. And I smegging called the time travel stuff from the beginning! ohhh also, Ryouma's death got my spine tingling when he falls off the building. The only real misstep of the episode is Kouta's "death" which we all know is going to be undone. It just feels like unnecessary padding. Quote
odin Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 What? Does Tyrion Lannister slap Michy silly? nope although that would be epic, what I meant by it is by something that happens a lot in this episode at least 3 times, although it does not surprise me considering the writer. XD Quote
