Well, after a very long time the Dragon Ball Z series is getting another movie and it is called Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. The story takes place after the fight with Buu but before Pan is born, a new foe appears in the form of Bill the God of destruction who awakens after a long sleep to find out that Freezer has been defeated by a Saiyan warrior which triggers a memory of his that he was told that the legendary Super Saiyan God would defeat him, exited over this he heads out to earth to face the Z warriors and find the Super Saiyan God or a worthy opponent. Based on this movies story it basically retcons GT entirely and probably the last episode of DBZ as well since this movie has been confirmed as canon.

I looked at the summary of the movie in the wiki and from what i understand from it I can assume that there will be a follow up movie or hopefully a new Dragon Ball series, I will write my reasoning behind this in spoiler tag cause i have to reveal parts of the movies story to explain:

Goku acquires the legendary Super Saiyan God form which allows him to fight evenly with Bills but it is not enough because this form has a time limit and even tho Goku manages to boost his power more after losing that form he still loses, Bills tries to destroy the earth but his energy is depleted as well and his master knocks him out stating that there are 12 other universes and each has its own God of Destruction and leaves with Bills saying that he will awaken Bills again in 3 years

Take note that what I said in the spoilers is something I found in the dragon ball wiki so I don't know if everything said there is 100% true but it seems that it will be an awesome movie and if my prediction stands true we will probably have a new series soon, here are the trailers for the movie as well as an image of Goku in his Super Saiyan God Form, thoughts and opinions are welcomed.

Ps. to those wondering why does the trailer 2 show gohan in super saiyan form instead of mystic form it is because it was a mistake from the guys who made the trailer he still has his mystic form from the buu saga.

Seriously though, I am so excited and I can't wait to see this/for the English dub.

yea, it is 12 universes, I must have misread, thanks for clearing that up, I'm exited to watching this movie as well, it is nice to see dragon ball in a new animation style after being teased by dragon ball kai's openings.

Is the running time 120 minutes? Very long for a DBZ movie.

I'm excited about this movie and it really does look like it will either have a second movie made or it will launch a whole other series.  Also it is about time that they created another DBZ movie I was getting kinda tired of the video game specials or the shorts that were just released.

i look forward to this. any DBZ in that new style is all good by me. as far as im concerned they shoud have reanimated all of Kai in that style!  the redo of plan to eradicate the saiyans was cool.

all great characters are voiced by japanese old ladies - i.e Goku and Naruto!

yup, pretty much, I really don't mind it since I grew up watching both the English, Japanese and Spanish dubs, Spanish being my favorite.
