(volume 2)

- VIZ - Terrifying

- Chuang Yi - the other sho, the menace of bio-boosted clone

- Advocacy - n/a

really, i honestly cannot even remember this! was it even in the 2005 tv series?

Sho's chopped off arm comes alive!

This chapter has some good humour in it at the beginning, which is a good change of pace.

its particularly funny when the cloned sho freaks tetsuro out because hes naked in the 'archive' / library.

i'm more impressed by Viz again , as the sentiment of Sho realising he can not get away from the bio booster armour comes across.

i liked this because despite the undeniable coolness of the Guyver unit and all the good he can do with it and the protection it provides, to put it bluntly, it has kind of got Sho by the balls.

it would be interesting to read Advocacys translation of the last few pages in this chapter. i'm guessing they would make more sense than chuang yi's.

if I could see the japanese writing of those pages, I could translate some bits to clear it up.

I am missing volumes 2 through 22 and 24.

I do have a scan of it, but the writing is too small.

I don't know why but this chapter never really clicked with me even though it does present a lot of important stuff. Namely that Sho really is stuck to the Guyver, at least until the Remover appears, he's a clone and that Agito was willing to kill him.

Maybe because even then something about it feels like a breather issue. Like Takaya had to go 'wait they loved Guyver!? Shoot do I bring Chronos back or have a new set of enemies? Got to buy a little time...." Even though this is a good idea with the Bio Boosted monster. Though on the other hand we never do see it again and we've seen Guyver lose limbs aftward haven't we but they never became creatures again.

@Ryuki

i tried looking for some raws but they seem to have the same problem the hiragana (?) is blurred and pretty much unreadable.

@ Dave

good points dude. i know the chapter is a bit obscure, but like i said i appreciated a bit of humour and the whole the 'Guyvers got me' thing.

yeah no other limbs have come back to life that iremember- have they always been abandonned though? or do they get stuck back on to fuse back??

wasn't it mentioned somewhere that takaya sensei regretted that chapter and tried to retcon it somewhat?

obviously it can't be completely omitted, but it seems to have been a freak occurrence.

my thoughts on that are that it could be due to the enzyme. or it could be due to the amount of core host material. or it could be due to the presence of a power amp in the forearm.

the cross section of the guyver in the VDF shows power amps in the locations where guyver bulges. the power amp could provide a source of temporary sustenance for the bb-organism.

the amount of core host material could have been used to build upon and create a full body.

the enzyme was derived from the guyvers own armour disassembly process. as part of the guyvers own systems, the removal of that limb by the enzyme that the guyver was designed to use, could give an indication to the systems in that arm that they were to continue operating in some fashion.

maybe the guyver armour is designed to disintegrate when separated from the CM for a set amount of time. as we saw with the portion of gigantic darks shoulder that got separated. that was sliced off and no power amp present to keep it 'alive'. but the arm was removed using the guyver's own enzyme. it may have gotten the impression that the CM had decided to remove the arm for some reason.

a combination of these reasons, could have led to what happened.

furthermore, the way it happened could have been by design. agito commanded his severed leg to return to him. the arm was no commanded to return. perhaps the way the arm formed into a clone of shou and seek out the original, was a homing system. to use infiltration techniques to seek out the original and merge with it. maybe it wasn't an aberration. maybe it was an advanced emergency recovery routine.

on that particular incident in chapter 7 i think that it was just a case of a 'recovery routine', an unheard homing beacon was calling to the forearm from the unit, it was being called 'home', but that wasnt revealed until the end, it wasnt known - especially seeing as Agito was going to kill Shou over it and that gave the chapter some substance.

i think youre other reasoning is sound dude. it makes sense that it would have measures to destroy and preserve itself. well more preserve itself via the energy of the power amp (also makes sense bits would just decay if they had no extra power source to feed off).

about the whole power amps thing....

actually its funny you know, i was going to save this for another time but it kind of seems appropriate....

i'll link somewhere else because its slightly off topic..

Hey here's an observation I noticed for the very first chapter I don't think TC noted. In the Viz adaption after Malmot blew himself up a trooper says that Gregole lost the ability to transform...even though he is unscathed. I guess it was an attempt to link up with the OVA series which has the Zoanoid go berserk after losing an eye.

ah I see. so that is a version of 'OP'. (opening poster)

yes that is interesting, but better placed in the topic for chapter 1.

although viz is accurate i guess they do take some liberties.

also, something else to take us off topic (yes i'm being cheeky)

Malmot = mistranslation of Marmot = Japanese equivalent to Guinea-Pig = Test type.

Another note: been skimming through the volumes from the start. I'm such a dweeb I like to try to keep track of when each Guyver first uses a power. I think in this chapter this is the first time we see Guyver III use an actual power, well aside from super strength, as well as his first, shown, use of the head beam.

Chapter 9 will also be the first time Agito uses his sword and the second time they're even used period between the two Guyvers.

I was trying to do this in our wiki section.

if you get a moment, do you think you could check over it and correct any i got wrong or add any that i missed?

Seems right so far. Though I think the first time Agito used the Pressure Cannon was book 3 and against Zex-tole.

Gigantics Guyver.

Powers first used in book 10 include: big head beam, shield, Gigasmasher, vibration blade, smaller head beam, sonics, power punch. Yeah just about every power except for Gravity Ram (book 23 or 24 to get into Cloud Gate while Khan was nearly finished forming) and Pressure Cannon which...geez I'm not sure he ever has used that actually! Though Agito more than makes up for it since he's pretty wild about it, especially the last book and Sho's XD had the Gravity Implosion which is kinda like a Pressure Cannon but tuned up a million times.

Gigantic Dark.

First book 13, that alone he used Pressure Cannon, Gigasmasher, Head Beam, shield, sonics, jused about everything (vibration whips book 14 sobasics all done already) but Gravity Ram, Power Punch (might have been most recent book) and I think that's it.

thanks for checking it, but it's best not to go further off topic. I was hoping you could directly edit the appropriate articles and if any discussion is needed about those articles, it could be discussed in the website discussion forum.

I'm just mindful that Aether's topic is being used for the wrong purposes.

 i dont know whats funnier - the fact Dave couldnt be bothered to scroll to the top of the page to find my name, or no one could be bothered to find the appropriate thread for the info .

it would be nice to keep things in order whether it be the threads or the wiki.

i dot want to put either of you off from contributing so please dont take my comment as offensive.

it could have been on the warriorguyver website. I remember once upon a time, the mods were pretty strict on there.

but we've never been against topic revival. if the guyver can revive then who are we to denounce it? :P
