So Odin brought up the idea of doing a podcast for our site.

I think it's a great idea myself.

So what I think is best, is if we can get a team of 3 guys.

this way there is lower pressure on each guy.

we can use skype to set up a three way conversation and can record it and put it to youtube or put it to a thread in mp3 format. or both.

first port of call is getting some guys together who want to do this.

after that, we can look at what we would be talking about.

I think if we just pick a general topic, then we can see how it goes.

we could end up talking about anything, from our perceptions of kamen rider or super sentai, to our ideas about where guyver is headed.

oh, in case anyone was in any doubt, I intend to do this.

so we have one guy so far.

(well maybe two but i'll wait for LS to post.)

I'd be willing to do this. One problem I could see with this is figuring out a good time for everybody to do this. We'd also have to figure out how long we want the podcasts to be. Then we need a person to record our sessions.

Well, it could be either a weekly or monthly podcast, if it is weekly I would suggest talking about short recent stuff that is happening in the world of Tokusatsu, an example would be the recent death of the actor that plays Kamen Rider Stronger, or maybe current Movie/Game/Music/Series releases like the new All Kamen Rider Generation game and talk about your expectations of said media, it should be at least 15 to 30 minutes long but at least above 30 if you do it Monthly and by doing that you could also discuss the current events of a certain series during the month. In my opinion doing a podcast monthly could give the people participating the chance to get up to date on the things to be discussed, aside from talking about things related to tokusatsu you could also contact celebrities from Tokusatsu or Tokustasu community and Interview them for the podcast say for example Mark Musashi who is the actor who played Kodama in Garo who I know that has been interviewed in podcasts and videos before and speaks decent English. You should post the podcast on youtube and provide a mp3 too that way people can have more options on how to listen to the podcast episodes. If opting for the Youtube route I would suggest giving each person speaking a portrait to Identify the voice that is speaking and make it glow when around it when that person speaks just for fun.

well let's not get too ahead of ourselves just yet

I think weekly is good. each of us can easily pick a subject to talk about. some things one of us will be very knowledgeable about and maybe the others not so knowledgeable. I don't think we need to do a lot of research on stuff, because I think it makes it more interesting when one person doesn't know stuff and asks all the questions about it. it's likely that they will ask questions that the listener might want to ask.

scheduling could be tricky, but i think it would be fine if we can simply give an idea of what our schedule is like.

my calendar is generally wide open, so I think it would be easier to work off of somebody else's availability.

I am not sure about recording but i am sure it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Well for me. I'm usually off Thursdays and Saturdays. I'm most active afternoon and stay up late cause I'm nightshift at my job right now. As far as synching up time I operate Eastern Standand Time of the East Coast of the USA. Yeah that sentence was weird.

Topics wise. I know Guyver, Videogames(mostly international, or stateside release), some anime, and some kamen rider.

The podcast should be weekly, or bi-weekly IMO, cause with monthlies we may have too much to talk about. And bi-weekly might be good if we can't commit to a weekly podcast.

Ryuki, Purgstall, Odin and LordSpleach? Odin you didn't say specifically, but by your level of involvement, I think it's a good assumption?

I go to my mates on saturdays. usually from 1400 to around 0100 , so a saturday is pretty much impossible for me.

thursdays are good for me, how is everybody else's thursday?

LordSpleach, is your time zone the same as New York? I have that in my phone. currently 5 hours behind me.

I don't know, as we've talked about, it would probably be good to try and aim for about 30 minutes or so.

so perhaps we can start the coming thursday?

My time zone is UTC- 4:00 Georgetown, La paz, Manaus, San Juan. I don't know how much of a difference in time i have with you guys, Frankly I have a lot on my plate right now and I don't want to eat more than i can chew, I could give it a try but I can't Guarantee that I could participate every single podcast, I just wanted to contribute to the site as much as I can by giving suggestions on how to improve the activity here, I feel bad enough that i have not finished the script for the review yet, at best I can contribute Graphics for the podcast and such. I really want to do more but I just can't, sorry.

I would like to join you guys on the first episode at least, I'm good every night or saturdays and sundays. btw, for the youtube version of the podcast, what do you guys think about what i said about each of us having a portrait of us to identify who is speaking?

I'm a little late replying to this I would gladly partake in this if my microphone wasn't so crappy and if I knew what the heck I'm doing this summer.

The portrait thing for a YouTube podcast sounds cool to me.

And for possible topics: theories on how Guyver works/unexplained things in Guyver, games, anime. Somehow I can see this turning into a Mystery Science Theater 3000 soapbox every now and then

you can just make your skype portraits what you want.

skype highlights the portrait that is currently talking.

if I record the screen, i should capture everything.

I hope that you guys also record it in the event that something goes wrong technically and footage is lost.

My time zone is central standard time, so spleach is just an hour ahead of me (if its 10:00 pm here, then its 11:00 pm there).

11pm would be the latest starting point really. I'd definitely prefer a lot earlier if it were possible. Ideal for me would be 5 hours earlier to be honest but i understand that's not best for you guys.
