Not really. Sure, they're abilities are slightly similar but while Rex can actually grow the robotic enhancements from his own body, Birth must use the Medal system to gain access to weapons that are built for him to use.

I've been traversing through some of the discussions in the spoiler thread over at HJU. Not always accurate so take that part on the dino medal with a heavy grain of salt at this point in time.

Okay, info on those rumored Dino Medals.

Apparently, there are more colored categories for OOO than just the first 5 known colors. We knew about Red, Blue, Grey, Green and Yellow but there appears to be a few more.

Back when the first videos on youtube showed the DX OOO Driver way before it's release and before the showed was even aired.

It seems Toei has had those videos removed now but they showed something that the company probably didn't want to be seen just yet.

When the scanner is passed over the medal stack, the lights on the scanner shine colors similar to the color categories of the medals. So it shined red, green, white (grey), blue, yellow...and purple.

Purple is rumored to be a new category which means a new Greeed. There were also rumors of some of the animals being based around dinosaurs and/or reptiles and now they're being linked to the purple color set. Some links to videos still around. Watch the light in the center of the scanner for the color change.
