guyverfanatic Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 160 gig PS3?! Awesome! TOo bad it isn't backwards compatible!!! The PSP STILL needs a second analog stick! Quote
*zeo Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 Well that's understandable since they are still selling the PS2 and if you note the cost between the 20GB, which is backwards compatable, and the 160GB the cost difference is about the same as just adding a PS2 to the package. In a way it is better since the PS3 sucks up a bit more juice than the PS2 and since the PS3 doubles as your Blu-Ray movie player that you don't want to wear out the drive as much as possible. As for the PSP, yeah that's a common complaint but Sony doesn't plan any serious design changes for 10 years from the time the PSP first came out. So they are only doing incremental updates. This one is mainly for those who haven't already got a PSP-Slim and makes it Skype ready right out of the box. McAvoy Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Well I have just a PS2 and no cables for it, so it's actually keeping my Samsung 42" 1080 HD manual down. *zeo Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 True, but we have to remember Sony has lost an insane amount of money on the PS3 that they may never make up. Even the XBox 360 and its 30% failure rate is outselling the PS3 right now 2 to 1. And we do have the Wii to show how far repacking old tech into a new package can go. But nothing's certain yet, they still got a few years to finallize their plans and commit to anything. Meanwhile. . . DO NOT GET A PSP-3000!!! PSP-3000 Screen Suffering From Terrible Interlacing and Jaggies Apparently an unforeseen hardware issue with the new screens replaces the ghosting of the previous models with terrible interlacing and jaggety lines. Sony can't fix it without messing with the hardware and recalling all the 3000 models already sold and it is unlikely to do that anytime soon. So hold off buying a 3000 until this issue gets addressed. Thanks to the US Airforce, you can now download "The Suffering" for free!!!
