Shenzon Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 I have a question about the speed listed in the datafiles for the Warrior units. Can they travel at that max speed listed in the earth's atmosphere, or is that only in space? I was just asking because their max boosted is I think its said around mach 10. Quote
*zeo Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 (edited) A WG2 with CPM boost can fly up to mach 10, which unless otherwise stated it is in atmosphere. Btw, Mach speed (which is based on the speed of sound through air) changes with air density so for 7,500 MPH to equal to Mach 10 it has to be near sea level. At higher altitudes Mach 10 is actually slower due to the lesser air density. Edited June 29, 2007 by Guest Quote
WarriorZoalord Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 luckily guyvers are heat resistant.... air friction at that speed would generate a lot of heat me thinks. Quote
*zeo Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Yes, at mach 3.2 the temperature from air friction is about 500 degrees fahrenheit and goes well over a thousand when hitting mach 10. The space shuttle typically experiences up to 3000 degrees upon re-entry. But Darzerb's Napalm breath is rated at 3900 degrees (they never specified C or F but really hot either way) and the regular Guyver just walked through that so the Warrior Guyvers with their body shield auras are pretty much burn proof. Shenzon Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 Oh okay, I wasn't sure if it was possible for them to do that in the atmosphere. That would be awesome though. Quote
guyverfanatic Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Damn, a regular guyver would be burned to a crisp if carried by someone like Dreadnought going at his max speed. Quote
