McAvoy Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Since the original topic has disappeared thanks to the hackers: I bought the movie yesterday and all I got to say is All Hail the King. The only thing I didn't like was the giant insects. Nothing wrong with it, it was is that I hate insects. Quote
*zeo Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 It was mostly in tribute to the original movie and the lost scene in which the men who fell to the bottom of the canyon got devoured by giant insects. Only a single frame of the scene has ever been recovered but Jackson recreated it for the original Kong DVD box release, using original 1930's film tech, and of course the CG remake. He did a good job of restoring the original so that is also a good DVD to get. Quote
McAvoy Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 Is it that big $50 box set that was released a few months ago? I do plan on getting it soon or later. Quote
*zeo Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Yes, it was released in two options, the movie by itself or the box set which contained extra two movies like Mighty Joe Young as part of the deal. All restored to original quality. Quote
daveblackeye152 Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 That was great how he did that. recreated the spider pit scene. Quote
