Guest Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I made a new 3d character that will be seen in my 3d manga in the making. Those from the rpg section already are familiar with her. It's Scyxia, demon chimera girl her made her first appearance in the vampire hunter guyver rpg. This model is 90% done, her hair needs a little adjusting and I forgot to put the stinger on the end of her tail, I'll be rigging her later. http://www.geocities.com/defectron/scyxia.htm Quote
BloodStorm Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Wow.... she looks.. um.. Must have gotten her looks from her dad, eh? Hehehe.. Another great one, mr.Z. Quote
Guest Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Originally Scyxia's design was based off of that girl from that dream I had where as we made out she changed into a giant spider, yeah that was an interesting dream anyway that's where I got the idea for what her character would look like. Anyway I changed a few things about her character that may not be noticable in this pic. Originally while her body was covered in very fine jet black furr, like the sort of fur a moth has, her face wasn't and was a light bluish color, but this didn't look right so I made her all black instead. There are also three other variations of Scyxia I'm going to make later, one with wings, one with four arms and one with four arms and wings. Also the three barbs at the begining of her tail are supposed to be yellow, I forgot to do that, I'll color those later. Quote
Guest Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Ok I realise this is the first draft and you'l refine it later but a few things you should do are bring the tail on her back down so that it's just above her ass and not halfway up the back, also I'm not the artist so I don't know if her eyes are meant to be that big but she should really have them sized down a bit by about half and make the two smaller eyes a bigger and closer together, it will make a whole lot of difference. Apart from that I like, especially the structure of the feet, they're really cool. Quote
BloodStorm Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Sparky, never really studied anotomy, have ya? The tail on most critters is an extension of the spine, and this comes out just under the peak of the pelvic area.. so the tail placement isn't too far from out of the ordinary, biologicly speaking... the base only appears high on this figure due to the spinal alterations that would give her the needed flight abilities... but the tail itself is in a prime location. but since this is indeed a creation of one of the strangest minds on the board, he can put the tail anywhere he darn well likes. Of course, your overall tone made it sound more like demands than suggestions... and as a fellow artist, you can perhaps see why I felt compulsed to defend his work with scientifical nonsence.. I have to agree with the eyes though, the main pair looks ready to pop.. but eh.. Knowing this character as I do.. I have to say that they're the perfect layout for the chimera girl. Quote
Guest Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Hmmmm well changing the eyes won't be as easy as it sounds because I already merged them with the main mesh, if this was in 3d max I could just select them as an element but I can't do that in maya unfortunatly, I'll have to delete all the polygons for her eyes and then make entirely new eyes. Although I con't much care for the idea of going back and doing something difficult like that I'll do it because I already decided that I wouldn't cut any corners on this project since I'm trying to get professional level quality. That was certainly not my intention and I'm sorry for it. Also BloodStorm I have studied anatomy, good'ol Human Biology but I wasn't taking any of that into account because it's a picture and for the simple fact it would look better there but it's only a suggestion and if Mr Z doesn't want to do it then he shouldn't Quote
Guest Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I think I like the tail better where it is though. I don't really think the eyes look terribly wrong for the character , although they do seem to be a bit larger then I had planned them. I'll probably experiment on ways to fix that later but right now I think I'll concentrate more on getting her hair to look right since that's bothering me a bit more then her eyes. The next character I'm going to make will be Plutonium Kiwi! Quote

Have to say I love that name it's just like something when you say it, I don't kow what but I think it's a cool name alright, I'm really looking forward to seeing what this guy does and looks like. Guest Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Plutonium Kiwi is a desgraced masked Gladiator who used to work for the lightning god Lindquist von Spielberg. Plutonium Kiwi is a cyborg with magical propertys, a product of techno sorcery. He fights using a giant box of magic pocki. One of his hands is also sort of a cross between a large metallic pincer and a stun gun, it also has a nozzle in it that shoots out a jet of gas that can be ignited into superheated fire. Anyway he should be fairly easy to model in comparison to a character like Scyxia for example, because most of his facial features are completely welded shut with the exception of his right eye. Over what used to be his face is a tatoo of a yellow smily face which is frowning and sticking its toung out. Quote
Guest Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Mr Z you have one hell of an imagination on your head, thats I can say, thats all I'm gonna say Quote
BloodStorm Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Hehe.. Plutonium Kiwi sounds like he'll fit in right at home with Shadowmongoose, Dj, and The crab... speaking of the crab.. when are you going to modle him like you said you would? Surely he can't be THAT hard.. he looks alot like the crab in that Utena flash animation thingie.. which seems to be taken down.. WHAAAA! I miss the flying crab! Quote
Guest Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Oh yeah I forgot about the crab, guess I could do that tomarow, almost got scyxias hair fixed too, just need to scale it down now, because while I got it to look less garfunkly it's too long now so she looks like a demon chimera version of Sadako from the ring with too much hair. But after I scale it down it should be ok. Quote
