For me it would have to be Lincoln, better known as The Missing Link!

Hulk%2B179%2BSept%2B74.jpg

Originally a neanderthal-like humanoid, he was sealed in an underground pocket during a volcanic eruption, leaving him in suspended animation until modern times (just roll with it) until a Chinese atomic test causes a rift to open in the ground, spewing magma to the surface, and a few days later the creature crawls out, mutating into a radioactive monster. Overtime his body was covered by, and eventual completely converted into, pink radioactive crystals.

In terms of strength he is a match for the Hulk but his greatest power is that his body is constantly giving of large amounts of radiation. His body can become so hot he can burn concrete or the Hulk's skin. Also the radiation Missing Link's body generates can force the Hulk to revert to Bruce and vice versa. While his body is very durable the hulks punch's could damage his crystalline frame however his wounds regenerated almost instantaneously.

However his greatest power is also his greatest weakness. Since his body is constantly building up radiation, a chain reaction can occur that will cause him to explode spectacularly. However the crystal fragments of his body will eventual reform The Missing Link.

Joureing  their first encounter The Missing Link acted as you would expect a rampaging, atomic caveman lost in a world he doesn't understand to act. However after he exploded and reformed some time later in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia the Brickfords, a local family, find him and care for him. The Brickfords name him "Lincoln", educate him, and get him a job in the mines. In time he become a liked and respected pillar of the local community. The Brickfords also take in Bruce Banner soon after. Bruce recognizes who Lincoln is after Jimmy-Jack Brickford falls sick from radiation poisoning due to exposure to Lincoln. Bruce confronts Lincoln to get him to leave the Brickfords, but Lincoln does not believe him and attacks. As the Missing Link fights the Hulk, his touch burns the Hulk and he realizes that Banner was telling the truth just as he reaches critical mass and explodes again. When Hulk and Missing Link crawl from the wreckage, the Brickfords and the other citizens think that the Hulk was responsible for the destruction and the child's sickness as Lincoln was only protecting them. The battle ends with the Missing Link exploding. But this time he reforms instantly and, his radiation output is back to safe levels, goes off with his friends, leaving the Hulk once more alone.

He continues to live with the Brickfords and work in the mines. The mines begin to leak toxic fumes, making people leave or become sick. Lincoln realizes this is his fault, and he hides in the mines. The Spaceknight Rom detects the radiation and investigates, curing the Brickfords of their radiation poisoning. Rom finds Lincoln and explains to him that he is a threat to the entire planet. Rom uses his neutralizer to purge Lincoln of radiation as well as erasing his memories.

The last thing we heard of the Missing Link was that the Brickfords were forced to turn Lincoln over to the authorities due to the damage he had caused the town and forcing everyone to move away. Nothing's about his fate after this point is known.

On the whole all The Missing Link's stories are good and enjoyable and his clashs with the Hulk are some of the best fights the jade giants ever had in my opinion.

I hope this character has the chance to be in the spotlight again someday however obscurity can be a good thing, insuring that good characters don't get misused.

I would love to see him in a Hulk sequel. He does seem very underrated. If they did bring him back. He'd probably have a different back story.
