Kanji Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) So I read in the Wiki that as of 2009, Guyver had reached 5 million copies printed. Quote below: "The comics, as of December 2009, currently consist of 26 published Tankoubons (comprising the Tokukan Shoten version, Kadokawa shoten version and refurbished version), with a breakthrough of 5 million copies of the Tankoubon printed" Could I ask what the source was for this information and whether there has been any more recent sales figures? I mean, if it hit 5 mill 5 years ago, then I can't imagine that would have increased dramatically, and when you compare it to series of comparable age, pace and genre such as Bastard!! or Berserk which have sold 30 and 31 mill respectively, it's clear that Guyver isn't getting the much needed attention it deserves...... On the other hand, 5 million copies is still a very respectable number, and probably the reason we are still getting merchandise such as Figma Guyver I next month!! Cannibal Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) I have other numbers BUT I totally don't have source for 5 million milestone info. I was sure that 5 millions was just right before 28th vol (08.2011) was published. Also there was info "somewhere" right before release of the 30th vol (09.2013), that 5.5 mill reached. (maybe that number was right on the tankobon's little second cover) EDIT: Here's 30vol cover with number 550, which means 550 "x" ten thousand: http://s019.radikal.ru/i633/1410/3c/598b1aa3e5e7.jpg Edited October 8, 2014 by Cannibal Quote
