Guest Jupiter Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Here's a fun topic for all of us to sit down and discuss. I can't believe we haven't had a discussion about this yet. But I have to say we'd get to have it sooner or later. I'm just surprised I'm the one bringing it up,lol. Pot became legal in Colorado. I was going over some of the laws on it. To get pot, you have to be 21 and over, and its okay as long as you go through the business owners that were okayed by the Department of Revenue. The only downside to it is that you're not allowed to smoke it in public and you can't leave the state with it.It may still be a federal crime. But there isn't alot of the feds can do about it now in the state of Colorado. That's pretty much all there is to it other than the fact Colorado has the 64th amendment stating that people have the right in their state to smoke it now. What puzzles me the most is why is it only okay for just Colorado? I mean, why not let the rest of the United States do it as well? Even president Obama is for smoking pot. President Obama made the comment " marijuana poses no greater risk than those of alcohol. We should not be locking up kids or individual users for long stretches of jail time when some of the folks who are writing those laws have probably done the same thing," However some politicians say that marijuana is addictive; it’s a gateway drug and marijuana related fatal car accidents have tripled since 1999. Smokers inhale about 65 percent of pesticides found in marijuana buds and much of the evidence on medical marijuana and epilepsy is anecdotal. I think if Colorado is the first state to start selling pot, than its only a matter of time before the other states follow. I honestly don't see how it hurst anyone. I don't see how its a narcotic. No one has ever over dosed on it. So I don't see what the fuss is all about. Thats just my opinion on the subject. *Jess♥ Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 because the country is corrupt just like so many others. but the discussion is a good one. I just wanna say here, no substances should be illegal. it's ridiculous. instead there should be focused therapy and support available for people who have a substance use problem. At the end of the day, if you make one substance illegal, the people who are in trouble will just find something else to use or they will break the law. The idea of trying to control those people is everything that is wrong with the world today. too much vying for control. Quote

There is not reason why it shouldn't be. I get people don't want other's driving around stoned in their cars, but that is no different than driving drunk. I just think it would help people with their depression issues, cancer patients benefit from it, and I think a majority of the members on here would enjoy it too who are living here in America. There are a lot of US laws that are bs. Ever since pot was legalized in Colorado, the crime rate has dropped 66%. I do think that says a lot. Quote
LordSpleach Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I've heard plenty of arguments of why weed is better than alcohol as a recreational product, and I tend to agree. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I think everyone would be smoking it all of the time if it were legalized in every state. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I have no interest in marijuana to be honest. it is an entheogen so I believe it is generally good, but there are far better entheogens.liberty caps are in my opinion the best for my own genetic make-up since I am a biological native to Wales and liberty caps grow here indigenously.
