You should see the second season, it is great. The stakes are raised but reversed from the first season, you will know what I mean when you look at the episodes, also the twist in this season is done a lot more smarter compared to the first one and the effects are top notch, also Zero gets A LOT more development this season with entire episodes dedicated to him and to me they are the best ones of this season. I really hope this 3rd season is good even though Kouga is not here (so far), I may do a drawing dedicated to this series once I get motivated again.

weeeeeell, I got to see up to episode 7 of this new series and I like it but would not recommend it yet, it looks to me that the series is looking for a new identity with the new cast, everything seems more contained and the monster designs are very poor as well, sure they presented a new type of horror which is interesting since they are somehow tied to the new Garo who's armor has lost it's shine (it is more black than gold now) but the story is all over the place so far and there is really no explanation of what the hell is happening, not to mention that the other 2 makai knights that accompany the new garo are pretty bland, so until they up the pace on the story I will not recommend unless you are really interested in wire-fu  action cause so far you don't get to see much of the armor in the series and this time it is all CG unfortunately. :(

This series is not for newcomers since it depends on the viewer to know most of the Garo lore.

Well, I have a change of heart with this series, sure it has it's flaws but it has a lot of heart, 2 of the 3 makai knights are already growing on me with their character development and the conflict with the madou horrors are interesting, I do miss the interesting and original horror designs that where in the first and second season but it makes up for the story, this season is very emotional as well compared to the other two seasons with a lot of the deaths going around and the knights actually smile this time around. XD so far i am hooked with this series and I am patiently waiting for more episodes to come, it is certainly one of the best tokusatsu series I have seen this year.

Ok i been watching the third session and i came across makai senki by accident. I feel like a huge idiot!! I didn't know that it continued after zero and kouga killed the giant naked lady! (besides red requiem) I'm totally psyched. The episode i watched was the one where the samurai came to the present day and fought zero. I was so confused. I still thought it was one who shines in the darkness.

Makai senki is season 2, those episodes you speak of are stand alone episodes for Zero, great stuff in my opinion. Well this third season is coming to an end and so far I love it, the characters are much more emotional the only problem I would have is that the Knights armors are in cg always, I would really liked to see them made for real, the only exception would be Garo's armor but only when he recovers it's shine and it is as awesome as ever. Now I am waiting for the latest Koga movie that tell us what happened to him after the end of season 2.

The One Who Shines In The Darkness is a thrilling entry in the GARO franchise, offering a darker, more modern take on the Makai Knight mythos. The visuals are sharp, the action sequences are intense, and the characters are well-developed with intriguing backstories. It blends supernatural horror with heroism effectively. Fans of tokusatsu and darker fantasy themes will appreciate the mature storytelling. A must-watch for those seeking depth, action, and a strong visual atmosphere.
