Twilight-Guyver Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Alright folks I know I'm a little late on this but all the new game platforms are out The Wii, The Xbox 360 and the PS3. Everyone has their own take on each one of these new systems but which one is hte best. It would seem that the Wii and teh Xbox 360 are close in ratings while hte PS3 falls short of what it actually should be. I believe the problem that a lot of people are having with the PS3 is how powerful the processor is but how weak other components are. I think the graphics card is the main problem it can't support the power being given by the processor. But that's just hear say. I really don'ty know which of the three is the best, but I would like to hear aopinions if anyone owns one of the three. Rightn ow I want the PS3 for the sole purpose of getting Devil May Cry 4 in March. Yeah I know I'm a geek but I have every DMC game thus far, and I even have the manga and Novel. I missed out on the four part comic but I'll make that up one of these days. Back on topic, opinions of new systems please. Quote
largo Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Twilight my answer will be swift and just, The PS3 is the best of the new next gen. consoles. There is no doubt that the best games will be coming out for this system. I know that Halo 3 will be coming out for the 360 but other than that and the DOA games I see no reason to own on. As for the PS3 I know that there arn't many of the new next gen. games out for it but just wait till june or july of next year and you will bow down to it in slince. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 14, 2006 Author Posted December 14, 2006 See I have no doubt that I will love the system for the games that will have but if hte system itself isn't worth the trouble of getting it now there is no need of me going nuts to buy it. I love DMC so I'm most definitely getting it, but it's abilities and it's price are still in question. Even some of the first few games for it have goten horrible reviews. Right now, it's not looking too hot. Quote
*zeo Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I'd advise you wait, the initial release systems will have bugs just like the 360 had problems with over heating. Price should also improve since planned improvements include using a more efficient manufacturing process. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 Thats what I'm talking about. PLus with moving out being a very close thing to me. Any new system will ahve to wait. But games are another story. Quote
largo Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Yah I have to agree with zeo on the whole wait for the 2nd or 3rd series of the systems to go out and buy them. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 How do you feel about the Wii? Personally I'm not too sure about it. I mean I like it but the controller looks to be nic eand confusing for me. I know body movement actually controls it as much as the buttons but is that a pro or a con to it? Quote
largo Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Way to much work for a video game in my opinion. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 It may just be. It looks complicated but I guess it can be said that it may be a good way to get exercise. We know some people stay inside and do nothing but game until they are pale images of their formers selves and kinda look zombie/vampire like in the sun. So instead getting scrawny and lanky from not using any other muscles besides those in your thumbs you get more movement and have to be more mobile rather than just sitting. Quote
largo Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Hay twilight I'm proud of my vampire like complection. On top of that I play at the very least 30 or more hours a week, eat the most unhealthy foods for you and I look like a freak'n olymic hockey player. All hale the Red Wings! Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 Well, I can'ty say I'm any better. If I'm not playing games I'm infornt of a computer. So I get about the same amount of down time and yeah, unhealty foods . . . that's basically all I eat. So here I am only weighing in at about 153 lbs. and I have the stature of a well trained runner. I guess it's more how you work it. lol, that sounded kinda bad. Quote
*zeo Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Only two things wrong with the Wii, aside from the name that is. 1) It's basically a Game Cube with new packaging, no real graphical improvement. 2) The controls rely on line of site so you have to set it up on top where the control sensor bar won't be blocked. Though there is plan for a wi-fi version later. But the controls are basically only good for general motion. Not good if you need fast pin point control for the game. *Trivia, did you know you burn about as many calories playing a video game on average as you do going for a walk? Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 What?! Are you serious man? You mean I could sit dow nand play a video game and technically have taken a walk? That's nuts!! Hah, take that mom and dad. Mwahahahahahahahahaha!!! Quote
*zeo Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Yes, but just cardiovascular and calories equivalent. Since the only muscles you'll be using are your hands and heart. You'll still have to get up every now and then to excersize the rest of your body Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Fair enough. I think I do enough walking over the course of the day to keep some of my other muscles working. That and other "extracurricular" activities. Quote
largo Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 "Twilight" Motherly voice "You know that kind of talk isn't approprit(sp?)" But yah zeo is completely right about the Wii, other then the new smash brothers I have zero inkling to go and get a Wii, but seriously a no armored Samus OOOHH! my dreams have come true. Oh yah there's that and the fact that Snake will be making an appearince. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 Heh, well that's cool. It's all relative really. To each his own, I say. Quote
largo Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 The thing I can't wait for is halo 3 woot death glorious death. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 I think I could have gotten pretty good at Halo if my cousin hadn't been such a bas**** and kept killing me without even giving me a chance to move from my respawning point. Quote
largo Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 While not cool its perfrectly fair game. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 Meh, it's no big deal now. Not like I care. Just something that pissed me off is all, but that was then and this is now. But, I am waiting just for DMC4 for PS3, but Halo 3 already has merch out so that's pretty awesome. Quote
largo Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I heard that there will be a new main character to sort of replace dante. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Yeah his names Nero and he is a devil hunter with his own tricked out sword (has a motorcycle handle as the hilt). His arm is possessed and looks like it's deviled out the entire time but allows him a lot of bad ass manuevers. Dante is going to show up eventually and may end up being a playable character. As far as I know this game takes place between DMC 1 and 2. They really killedthe time line on these games because it's supposed to be DMC3 then DMC1 then DMC4 and finally DMC2 to make the line flow proper. But, who cares as long as you can trash some demons, right? Quote
largo Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I also hear from strange creatures under my bed that you fight against dante and well lose? Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 I can't remember the storyline completely right now, but from what I know Dante seems to be the antagonist at first, as you belive him to be the person that killed off your sect of this Sparda worshipping/demon hunting monks. Don't know if you lose or not agaisnt him, but it should prove to be a fun fight, especially if he can devil trigger. That should should hella fun. Quote
