Twilight-Guyver Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Sat a guyver unit was based more so on the usage of the sonic emmiters. I viewed the new anime series and saw two new hyper zoanoids that used a similar basis. If a guyver was thus created using Vibration and the sonic emmiters as it basis could it in theory use this ability to change it's molecular structure in ways as to become transparent and pass through walls, or to become as dexterious as the vibrational swords thus allowing it to perform slcing attacks that would cut through anything with it's arms or legs? Quote
*zeo Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Uh, no. Vibrational weapons are basically kinetic weapons and the swords just like normal swords need a focusing point, aka blade edge, in order to work. And it would take a lot more than just vibrating to vibrate your molecules through a wall. Since doing so would probably kill you before you vibrate enough to phase through a wall Not to mention the Guyver CM is vulnerable to sonics, it'll paralyze the Guyver. So if you did create a fan fic Guyver capable of vibrating through walls it would have to be from a totally new design from the standard Guyvers. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 11, 2006 Author Posted December 11, 2006 Alright then. I understand all that. So, if the control medal was properly modified to offer protection from the sonic emissions given off by the unit, it would be safe and the unit would be able to function regularly? Now in place of the vibrations of molecules a simple phasing ability would work correct, but how exactly does that work? Are the principles too different? Quote
*zeo Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Can't really protect the CM as it is, if it doesn't vibrate then it can't go through walls. You'ld have to create a special CM capable of vibrating safely. Phasing would be better, basically the Guyver already does that. When the unit is deactivated it phases into the boost dimension. It is still technically on the host at all times but when not in use it is out of phase with normal space time and thus appears to not be there. So dimensional phasing would be a possibility. Alternative would be a form of quantum phasing which would allow an object to slip through the empty space of other objects. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 You know yo uare going to ahve to give me a play by play on the phasing thing. It sounds to me that basically it means that because the unit has the ability to seem as if it disappears, it really doesn't at all, but gives off that appearance as a show. It really retreats to an alternate universe but still surrounds the host at all times. Heh, saying all that merely reminds me of hte conversation Sho and Tetsuro had about the guyver in the OVA. So it loses touch with this dimension and retreats to another but because of the host it still has the link to our dimension? That sounds right in my head. Now the quantum phasing that basically means that it kind of separates on a level of multiple prbability that allows it to kind of search out instances where there really is no wall in a technical sense, right? Or am I wrong? Quote
*zeo Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 That's part of it, the thing to remember is matter as we know it is mostly empty space. Feeling solid is an illusion of interacting energy fields. Like Neutrino's are so small a million of them can pass through you every second and not hit any part of you, which btw they are (passing through you). So in a quantum state the matter that makes up your body can be put out of phase with other matter and then you can just pass through the empty space. Like water passing through a grill, you can just go where there isn't anything to block you. Quantumly also means you can be in multiple places at the same time, so you can switch positions from one side of the wall to the other as a form of teleportation otherwise known as quantum tunneling. As for the play by play on the dimensional phasing, you got the general idea. The unit is there but not in a way that we can interact with. Quote
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 Yay! I understood something properly. Sweetness. Thanks for the helpo as always James. You the man! Quote
