Greatest Sci Fi Series - Films, Cartoons Live action etc....

Featured Replies

I can't help but notice that there is a lot of common ground amongst all of us with regards to interests in certain sci fi films, cartoons and programmes. We obviously are all mad about the guyver series, which has brought us here in the first place, but what about life before and during guyver?

I pretty much grew up on the star wars films as I guess a lot of you did as well, but what would be in your list of the greatest sci fi series that you have seen, be it cartoon or film?

My list would be as follows (not in any particular order):

The old Stuff!

Star Wars (films)

Superman (films)

Star Fleet (Anyone remember this, puppets! - the Di - X robot!!!)

Terrahawks (another space puppet type program)

Voltron (Cartoon - 5 lions)

Transformers (Cartoon - this had to be in here!)

Thundercats (Cartoon - Lion-o, Panthro, Tigra, Cheetara, Mumm-ra etc, etc)

He - man (Cartoon - I preffered the old series!)

Visionaries (Cartoon - Not that well known - magic and animal transformations!)

I think I'm showing my age mentioning all that old stuff!

The new stuff! (not as long a list, maybe you youngsters can help me out!)

Smallville (Superman early years series)

Matrix (films and anime)

Dragon ball Z (I know this is old, but I've only just started watching it on satellite tv)

Farscape

Babylon 5

StarGate

FireFly

5th Element

Gits

Flash Gordon (90's series)

ThunderCats (80's series)

and yep, a few others

i quote (8rucel33)

there were a couple more that i used to watch but noone i know has ever heard of them....

-Robby the Rascal (anime? horatio thornton III and his gloom ray)

-triple triangle/orion quest (cartoon, not sure about the title)

and a couple more (not sure if they all are strictly sci-fi)

-cities of gold

-centurions

-ulyses

-wheeled warriors

-mask

there are SO many i could go on forever!

Yeah voltron and thundercats was the show when I was growing up. I personally think Voltron was better then power rangers.

Transformers, He-man ( even the new series) are still my favorites. And the matrix was a twist for anime and movie fans.

I don't know if any of you have heard of the sci-fi series Starman. I think it's a good show

next to the incredible hulk. I haven't seen all yet.

No one's mentioned the Aliens movies yet? If I had to choose one favorite, that would be it. *hugs Xenos*

Predator was awesome too. So Alien vs. Predator? Oh yeah, one ups to that.

Hmm...what else...not much of a sci-fi buff...

Final Fantasy VII and VIII (yes, these can be counted as Sci-Fi)

Ender's Game

Jurassic Park

The Fifth Element

Star Wars Trilogy

Men in Black

Galaxy Quest

Evolution

Treasure Planet

Akira

Neon Genisis Evagleion

Full Metal Panic

Gundam Wing

Invader Zim

Star Trek Voyager

Farscape

Stargate

Earth 2

Robotech/Macross

Dark Angel

How could nobody mention "Macross AKA Robotech:Season 1"!? That's a classic show! And how could we forget Guyver?

Actually I did mean to put Macross up (great show)

As for Guyver, I don't think any of us really need to say it

Raxephon

Eva

Event Horizon

Dune

Alien, Aliens

Silent Mobius

Definitely Robotech/Macross (grew up with that)

Pilot Canidate

Gundam (all of em')

Godzilla

Big O

*out of ideas...for now*

I don't want you to feel ignored Omega, the first 2 Alien movies are definitely classics (not really feelin the last 2), I haven't seen Aliens vs Predator yet but it looks and i'm hoping it will be awesome!
