*Jess♥ Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 thank you, you guys. yes, I do think it is a good technique. but It's not a case of improving photoshop skills. photoshop is merely a tool, I've been able to use it effectively since 1998. It's more a case of studying the world, how light behaves etc. actually I think maybe my eye has gotten better due to studying how makeup artists work. actually, this could have been a very plain looking piece, but the improvement is due to how I decided I wanted to use colour to effect lighting. there is no true yellow on him, it's more red, peach and cream, with sandy grey shadows.
