I just thought I would finally share something I have been working with for quite some time (a year give or take) it will be a free graphic novel based on a Local Super Hero I'm making and aside of going against the typical criminals he will also be facing supernatural beings based on Puerto Rican Folklore, I have not decided on his name yet, any opinions or Constructive Criticism are always welcome.

117 views and no feedback? wow, well anyways here is probably the final redesign for the characters, thanks a lot to Ryuki for the suggestions on how to improve it, after a lot of trial and error I managed to make it look as menacing and badass as possible and I'm very happy with the results, now all it's left is to think of the color scheme, since the design is based on a red tailed hawk I will obviously add red in this one as well, probably some gold like on the big bird chest plate and give it a touch of bronze on the res of the areas. thoughts suggestions? you like this version or the first one?

EDIT- uploading the image now, the file was too big to upload directly to the forum XD

EDIT 2

HERE IT IS:

I've seen it on here before deviant art this time.

looking really nice dude!!

I love how you've developed this. the references are subtle and not too obvious now and it looks like an orginal creation.

your previous design now looks very plain in comparison.

your new design has some lovely detailing on it and also looks very regal.

looking at things like the lapels, it makes me think of the word 'conquistador' because of how i associate it with European gentry of the past.

also, looking at the armoured bits makes me think of historical accounts i have heard about where Spanish or Portuguese sailors met with the Mayans for the first time and the events that ensued.

Incredible, that is exactly the feeling i was going for, the origins of this character's powers take place during the discovery of America hence the conquistador looking armor and the creators of this power are from a tribe of Tainos that lived in Puerto Rico who some say that they may be related to the Arawaks, I'm just trying to make a graphic novel that takes advantages of the rich folklore that Puerto Rico has that not many know, and at the same time create a full Puerto Rican superhero, that is my goal at least. The first book will be free in order to get as many ppl interested as possible and if all goes well I will be selling the second book.

you've done a good job then :)

I'm a little envious, I'd like to do a similar thing with welsh culture as it has been somewhat brushed under the rug on a global scale.

I hope you get some good interest with it.

I know the feeling bro. when I talk about Puerto Rican culture to people that live here 95 percent of the time they don't know of the stuff I'm talking about, one of them even laughed because he thought I was kidding that we had our own version of Robin Hood, only more badass.

But what is stopping you from doing a tribute to Welsh culture? Is the research material hard to find in terms of looking for Folklore?

not at all. in fact it's quite easy for us to find out stuff.

it's the rest of the world that is the problem.

so many people just aren't even aware that Wales is a country in it's own right and has it's own culture and language and distinct ethnic background.

what's stopping me... well basically time and motivation. I have other plans right now. but welsh culture promotion does factor into future plans. just depends if I can get the opportunities I want.

Puerto Rico, is fortunate in some sense.. in the sense that i think most people are aware that it exists

Ok, I understand, in my defense I knew about Wales before I met you but that is because I'm a history nut. I really hope you get the time and motivation that you need cause I am interested to know about the culture there from someone who is native from there, I talked about that on my blog on this forum but I don't think many responded,

you don't need any defence, it's a world issue, caused by the English when they annexed us and tried to destroy our culture centuries ago.

yeah, people not responding or even giving their attention is a real problem recently.

I've been seriously considering for a while whether it is worth me continuing to pay all the server costs for this place.

you might have noticed lately I'm not very enthusiastic about guyver or guyver advocacy. it's because i feel like the fans don't care and are taking everything for granted.

I understand the feeling, been there myself and the way I get around that is telling myself that what I'm doing is something I love and want to share it with people although I wont get the reactions I want for my work, if at least 1 person likes what I'm doing then I'm happy, it is just how it is. For what is worth I at least appreciate what you have done here all this time to make the guyver series which is by itself an obscure series accessible for everyone, to tell you the truth this is the only forum I participate regularly anymore cause there are lots of ppl here that are very intellectual and have a lot in common with the things I like, sure there have been the times when the site has been very inactive but there has been times too that a topic was brought up and would be discussed for a long time and that is something I like here. But of course this is your site so If you ever decide to close down the Avocacy then I respect your decision, you can't continue doing something if you lost the love for it, I would prefer for you to do other stuff you love instead if that's the case.

On topic: Looking at it now the first design really looks plain in comparison to the new one huh? I guess I really will stick with the new one.
