McAvoy Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 This is old news but Western Digital releases world's first 1 TB internal hard drive. The average laptop hard drive 9.5mm but the new one is 12.5mm which means it may not fit in some of the laptops out there. Seagate will soon be releasing their own as well. URL Scorpio Blue If you have a HP dv7 or similar 17" laptops with one or two hard drives, you may be able to use these hard drives. For example, my dv7-1285dx can be upgraded for a max. of 2 TB up from my current 1 TB or the original spec of 500 GB. Incidently, early 2009 Seagate released a external 2.5" 1 TB portable hard drive as well. I have two of them. They are thicker and slightly larger than your average external hard drive. URL Free Agent Go Anyone remember when 500 MB hard drive was considered alot? I remember I had to save Word files on floppys to save space. Now with my hobby of converting my DVDs into AVIs, MPEG or MP4s, I need this sort of space. Quote
