largo Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Alright I've heard a lot of this blu-ray stuff so it's a hi-def dvd basiclly? So from what you said Zeo this is going to turn in to another bata vs vhs war. Quote
*zeo Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 Basically they are both next gen DVD's. Blu-Ray has more capacity but cost more and HD DVD cost less with a bit less capacity but both can support HD quality video. And yes, it will be similar to the VHS vs Beta War but contrary to that article we're still a long way from knowing which will win if either. Since they are already working on formats to take over these with even more capacity. Personally I think HD-DVD has the lead because it's already out and cost a lot less than Blu-Ray. When the PS3 comes out will be the real test since that will be the first mass produced device using Blu-Ray. Quote
*zeo Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Update, with the release of some movies on both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray a direct comparison of both is now possible. HD DVD and Blu-ray Compared Using Identical Source Material Quote
