Last night, Young Guyver brought to my attention that there are a few individuals who were awaiting the third chapter of my novel, Vixen. Most of you probably don't remember it, but for those who do, sorry I was holding out. I wasn't posting because I'm slow; I just didn't think anyone was interested in reading it. But, if you are, here's a bit of chapter 3.

These chapters will no be posted on any off-site. If you want them, you have to let me know. Send me a PM telling me that you want the chapter, and include your e-mail. If you haven't read the first two chapters but are interested, same deal; send me a PM with your e-mail so I can send them to you.

And I'll say this now, so listen closely, dearies. This is not fanfiction. This is not a spinoff of any kind. This is an original novel in progress, made from scratch from my mind. Therefore, I am very protective over it, and require some understanding before you read the rest. If I send you the document, then it stays on your computer. Do NOT print it out and hand copies for your friends to read, and do NOT upload it onto a webpage of ANY sort.

This is copywritten matieral. If I ever find out it was stolen or altered in any way, I have the legal right to sue you for it.

I really don't mean to sound nasty, but you have to understand my part of being an author and pouring blood, sweat and tears into something for the last eight years.

Where we left off: Vixen, the leader of the infamous band of theives known as the Night Foxes, has been arrested when trying to save one of her companions from a similar fate. Now, she's in the dungeons, awaiting for her trail...

---

The pebble rebounded off the wall with a resounding ping, then bounced away into darkness like so many of its brethren before it. From inside her darkened cell, Vixen sighed and let the remaining small stones drop from her fingers. It had been her only means of entertainment since she was brought down here. How long ago was that? It felt like weeks. The only means she had to tell time was when the palace guards appeared bringing her sparse meals, and that had only been three times thus far.

I doubt that they feed you only once a day down here, or else I would be feeling it by now. Mother, has it only been a day? I already miss the sun? Looks like the Stothary really does make people go insane after a while. The Star Mother knows that?s what it will do to me?

One can only hope. Vixen thought glumly, slumping lower in her cot. As far as I know, I?m the worse thing they?ve caught in a long time, and they?re just dying for a really big trial...

Vixen wondered how the others were doing. At least she took comfort in knowing they had gotten away, or else they would be down here with her right now. Knowing Fritz, he was probably making up some wild scheme to get her out, but she hoped that he was not stupid enough to try to carry it out. As noble as his intentions were, all of the Foxes well knew of Fritz?s bad habit of acting before thinking.

But getting me out means not only infiltrating the Stothary, but the Rosetear Tower itself. Even if he does come up with another plan, the others know well enough to keep him from doing something so foolish. With a sigh, Vixen pulled her legs up to her chest and laid her head down on her knees. I just hope they?ll be alright?

The sound of footsteps reverberating off the dark stone walls pulled Vixen out of her slump, wondering if it was meal time again already. When the Palace Guard appeared on the other side of the bars of her cell, she knew that he was here for something else. Something that she had been expecting to happen any time now.

?Your hearing before the Imperial Court is about to commence, Miss.? The guard said in a monotone voice, drawing a large ring of keys from his belt, which he flipped through slowly. ?You would think that the rumors saying we have Vixen Twin Blade in our custody is the biggest news this Empire?s heard in over a century, but they?ve been very hush-hush over the whole thing for some reason. Regardless of that, the Empress herself will be appearing at today?s trial from what I understand.? A sneer of grim satisfaction appeared on his hard face. Vixen felt her heart cease.

The Empress was going to be there? She knew that the Foxes were the most wanted thieves in the Empire, but were their crimes so horrible that the Empress herself needed to oversee her trial? Oh, bloody hell?

The door to the cell swung open on rusty hinges, and when Vixen moved to stand up the guard presented to her what seemed to be a pair of handcuffs. ?Are those really necessary? I?m not stupid enough to try to run away.?

?Can?t necessarily take the risk now, can we?? The guard said with the slight hint of a sneer on his face. ?Besides, what good is the word of a thief?? Anger flared momentarily in Vixen?s eyes, making her want to lash out physically and verbally to defend herself? But any action she took would surly be held against her in the matter of moments. She knew that she was already as good as dead, but there was no use in making herself look any worse that she already was. Reluctantly she complied with the guard, turning around so he could fasten the cuffs securely around her wrists, holding them at the small of her back before her and leading her out of the dungeons.
