Hey guys, I don?t know if anybody really remembers me but I?m back. After having been hit by a sudden burst of inspiration a couple of days ago I've decided to start writing my fic again (don't know if anybody ever really read it). Unfortunately since I lost all my notes when I got a new computer (which was one of the reason I stopped writing) it'll take a while before the next chapter is finished.

Currently I have a bit of a problem; I have thought up a cool new character but I can't think of a good name for him . If anybody can help me find a good name for him I'd appreciate it a lot.

I'll give a somewhat short description of him: he is a seemingly normal 16 year old kid with a nice family, not poor or anything and he gets good grades. Despite being a rather friendly person he doesn?t have any friends because he pushes people away if they get close to him.

Almost every part of his body except for his face is covered in thin scars of varying length (he has only one on his face which is on his left cheek). Because of this he always wears clothes that cover his entire body as well as fingerless gloves.

His battle form looks like a cross between a guyver and a human with tattoos resembling runes all over his body (the runes are mainly found on his 'skin'). He has long black ?hair?.

He usually has about a dozen grey cable like tentacles coming from an oval hole on his back. When they move the colour of the moving parts shifts to organism black. They end in spikes that are made of the same crystal as a guyver?s head laser orb. On several places on his body there are holes in the skin in which instead of flesh there are a bunch of cables visible, similair to the ones coming from his back. The largest of those holes are found on his back, his left shoulder and on his upper right leg.

The guyver parts of his body consist of several plates of metallic gray bio booster armour (no organism) which go over into skin near the edges. There are small pieces of armour found all over his body. There are a few larger plates. The larger plates have slightly glowing silver runes engraved into them. One of those plates covers the entire right side of his face (his visible left eye is blood red) and is featureless. Another covers his left under arm, another one is found on the right side of his upper chest and the last big one covers most of his left leg.

There is roughly as much skin as there is armour. His skin is mainly covered in those rune like tattoos (which are in fact part of a bio energy draining system).

Power wise he is somewhere between a guyver and a zoalord, mainly relying on his immense psionics rather then his physical abilities.

Oh and one last question to anybody who has ever written a fic or something like that: how do you guys think up names for your characters? I never seem to be able to think up any good ones.

Seems like a pretty cool character to me. To answer your question for names. It's pretty easy.

Depends upon your character. If it's a bad dude then dark names will do and if it's a goody to shoes then angelic names work though let me tell you most people like dark dark characters.

This is how i get names for myself. Oh and it doesnt hurt to alter the endings of the names.

The how look about your character reminds me of Leto II from dune when he becomes the Shai-Hulud (the sandworm). Maybe you could use that name for his battle form.

Like what was said, it all depends on what your character's motivation is. And you can take some bits and pieces of escriptive words ad names and play mix and match with them to come up with something you like.

For instance, since I read a lot of Tom Clancy books, i took Jack's first name (John) and came up with a different middle and last names, took personalities from a whole bunch of characters and people (including myself) and played a complex and intricate game of mix-and-match.

It can get quite complicated if you really want to get the nitty-gritty deatils thrown in.

But, ideas?

Scar comes to mind. No, not the disney character.

P.S. Patience and lots of researc can pay of with naming characters. If you have trouble you can leave the space where the name appears or place a series of characters, or insert 'John Doe' until you figure it out and you can use the word processor's replace function to easily correct the problem later.

It sounds like he needs a Sho Fukimachi type name. I like naming things, I'll give it a shot:

Aaron Thames - I like this one

Perhaps he can be refered to occasionally as:

Project 5 Omega

Iccarus

Whisper 14 (refering to the Zoalord telepathy)

Or just Project 5.

It could also be a vaguer name, something cryptical, but practical and easily identifiedas to who you are refferring to.

or somethings like it.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. You guys have given some good ideas for names, not only for this character, but also for some of the others I had trouble finding good names for.

The reason why I've had trouble thinking up a good name for this character is because I had originally meant him to be the main character of an Evangelion/Resident Evil crossover which never really got of the drawing table. Back then I had named him Tendril but seeing as how I've majorly toned the dark part of his character down (don't worry, he's still pretty dark), making him a tad more like Sho, that name just doesn't fit him anymore.

Unfortunately he won't be making his appearance for a couple of chapters since I first want to establish the main characters.

Hopefully the next chapter will be done soon, though there won't be too much fighting in it, that is what the chapter after that is for .
